Thanks 2stoned, but I'm going to keep it simple this time through. I would like to let everyone know that after the lighter watering last night, the babies have grown noticeably like they haven't done in almost two weeks. Thanks all.

ya watering is in my opinion a part of the whole growth cycle ... my DWC girls 2 plants per 5gal container 1 container go's through about 1.5 gal on warm days ... not to bad but that is alot of water !

They do get crunchy... should I up the nutes? As for fatman, I've thought of changing this design as well. My first thought was to incorporate hydroponics, which I think could be done quite nicely by cutting out the bottom of the lower tub, and placing it on a third tub that has its lid on with holes cut in it which would be like any other dwc. The second thought I had, was sticking a cool tube at the top and throwing a 150 or 200 watt HID light in there. If you did both, I'm sure you could crank out the bud, with the combo of hydro and HID lighting, and (at least with my thirty gallon tubs) about 3 feet of height to grow. I'll have more pics after the weekend, maybe I'll be able to get some closeups of the bad leaves. I did up the nutes from a quarter tablespoon/gallon (quarter strength) to about 2/3 tbsp/gal. Maybe thats why they are perking up. Thanks all!!

Hey all, have some new pics for you. I've named all my babies, so that it is easier to identify them in the pics. They are all Jock #1-5, if you look at the pics I left room to change them to Jockettes (fingers crossed). They are doing mucho better than before, it definitely seems to be the nute strength that is helping them.... they're even sucking down the water quicker. Now I'm not going to flower them now, but everyone says you should wait for the first five bladed leaf before flowering. Well, Jock #5 has a 6 bladed leaf, the one closest to the camera, although only four of the blades are visible. It's the same one that in my ten day old pics seems to have leaves growing out of leaves. Is that something that others have seen before, or do I have some genetically mutated(hopefully for the better) plant? I'm really going to try to get that plexi this week, updates arond Thursday. Thanks All!

Jock has some stretchy nodes.. but it doesn't stretch as much a you'd think a sativa dom would during flowering. I flowered mine at 10 inches, and by the end it was 24 inches.
Don't flower them yet!! you'll get a very small amount of bud, the 5 bladed leaf thing is something I've heard too, but only for SOG. You'll end up with a max of 5 females anyways, so sog doesn't seem to be good for you, unless you want to grow to maturity in rubbermaid boxes.

yea, its kinda expensive but if your planning on moving around in the future (like me), then it'll be a breeze taking these things apart and setting em up "wherever I may roam"... http://www.htgsupply.com/products.asp?categoryID=19

Thats the problem right there for me... I don't have the money for one of those. I'm hoping eventually to use my current growbox as my clone and mother box, and create another to use for flowering. I've also thought of using a tent like structure, but I'm still not sure. The problem I have with going the route you are, Smokedoja, with the 600w HPS and all, is that I don't pay the electric bill, my landlord does, so I don't want it to get out of hand. Thats why I have thought about sticking a 150W HPs in a cooltube inside another rubbermaid box, for flowering. We'll see where it goes. For now, I just want to see my babies grow.

yea good idea, whatever works for you...dont blow up your spot... the 150w hps in a cooltube sounds like it would work perfect, maybe even a 250w....

Hey everyone! I was looking at some other pics of some other grows on the site, and I noticed that everyone seemed to be transplanting into bigger pots at about the same size my babies are now (~3 inches). Should I transplant up into my 2 gallon grow bags, or will my jiffy pots hold em fine for a while longer? I can't tell if the roots want to poke out yet because the pot itself dries out in only a couple hours after watering, so theres not enough time for the root to get through. Any ideas???
Oh yeah, one other thing. I always see mention of 400 watt=3x3, 600 watt=4x4, 1000 watt=5x5. Is there a rule of thumb for smaller wattages? For example, I have a 19inx32in ~= 4.2 sq ft growbox. What would be most appropriate on a tight electricity budget?

Never mind that wattage question.... I used my super math skillz to deduce that a 200 watt system would be perfect.

Hey all! Transplanted my babies into my two gallon grow bags yesterday, see how small they look now? I probably should have done it last weekend, since this entire week I haven't seen much growth at all, maybe cuz they were bound up a little. Hopefully that will wear off. Oh yeah, the second pic is where I was at when I had to open up my other bag of soil.... about 6 quarts away from being able to take that one back!
