Default Hobo's Hydro Grow Journal, Comments Welcome

OK, ive had a journal on my comp ive been keeping, im basically going to transfer it over to here, and then keep you posted on the upcoming progress. more pics will be posted later too lazy right now lol.

Hobo's Grow Room
(still not 100 percent complete)

Comments Welcome

The Veg-room
Lights-

(2) dual 4 foot florescent day and warm white.

(1) 150 watt HPS.

Systems-

I have a humidity dome to get clones rooted. Once they have established roots, i will set up in a shallow water culture system to further develop roots and house loose growing clones. Once they are about a week old after developing roots i will put them into either a 4" rockwool cube or a basket of clay pellots where they will go in either a top feed drip system, or a ebb and flow system so they can veg out for about 2 months under the 150 hps. (will add some cfls later)

lol, for ventilation in the vegroom i keep the door open in daylight hours as the vegroom is a closet in the flowering room.

Flowering Room

Lights

(1) 400 watt MH Hortilux Super Bulb

(1) 400 watt HPS Hortilux

System

a simple top feed from a 10 gallon reservoir

Nutrients

I use a 3 part nutrient mix from FutureGarden called Liquid Earth. i Also use another addative called organic activator which is a a blend of Norwegian seaweed, Ascophyllum Nodosum, and ancient deposits of composted humic matter known as Leonardite, this unique supplement is beneficial to all plant types during all phases of growth. ORGANIC ACTIVATOR works by improving plants nutrient uptake ability and actively promoting the development of healthy, robust root systems.

Ventilation

(1) 120 CFM vent fan exhaust

(1) 90 CFM vent fan intake

MISC.

- a tri meter for ph temp and tds

- reflective mylar lining all walls.

- 4 timers (12/12) (18/6) and 3 15 min intervals for veg room pump, 5 15 min intervals for flowering room timer.

- club soda foliar feeding for co2

- dripping vinegar into baking soda for co2

thank you man, im very proud of them.
this is my first hydro grow ever, and my first run with premium seeds. the ice plant has wide leaves and they are dark in color. its an indica dominant hybrid, with alot of indica characteristics. growth at first appeared twisted for me i dont know if that was a boron deficiency or just the tendencies of this strain. i adjusted by adding a tiny bit of boric acid. I know they can get pretty tall, but ive trained mine to bush out by topping and tying down the tops, good luck with your ice seeds. IceIcebaby is also growing ice, he grew them straight up though, you should check that to get a contrasting view of the plant.
peace.

theres the three part which is vigor (all around) grow (veg) and bloom (flowering)
the organic activator contains some trace elements but it is not plant food and is to be used in supplement with the normal feeding regiment. the only downside to organic activator, it will leave behind a goo on your medium sort of. and it smells like low tide. they also sell several other addatives such as hygrozyme, and the bcuzz stimulants.

can anyone vouche for bcuzz's results? does it make enough of a difference that, its worth the outrageous price?

i have been usings botanicare nutes and calmag combined with florolicious plus and hygrozyme. so far it has been working out pretty damn well. i might try something like kool bloom or something (1/2 strength) to try and get some bulky buds.

Default some new extra nutrients

Picked up some Carbo Load, and some Bcuzz bloom stimulator for the next few weeks of feeding. i put them in tonight, going a little light on the bcuzz. The carbo load should increase the size and potency of my buds, while the bloom stimulator aids in the healthy uptake of key nutrients for my flowering.

i also picked up some bcuzz root stimulator to make a solution to soak my rockwool in when making clones, on top of using a fungicide root hormone powder and a humidity dome. i plan on picking up a heat pad soon to help with that.

I flushed all the media with distilled water then changed and cleaned all 3 of my reservoirs (make a habit of changing your reservoirs often). So right now i have the 2 of the 3 part liquid earth (vigor, and bloom), Organic activator, Carbo load, and bcuzz bloom stimulator. These plants can take alot of feeding now so i have the ppm at 900 - 1000. ph of 5.8. Im also watering them more often and topping off the reservoir more often due to all the extra water and nutrients these 2 gals are feeding on.

you can find a 3 part nutrient system and all the other products i talk about at;
