Rep Power: 11 | | Grow Journal Jock Horror Well...here we go with my first grow journal at Green Passion This grow will consist of Jock Horror. The seeds and related information can be found at Nirvana The setup: · Fully enclosed room 5'x7'x8' insulated with air conditioning if needed. · Two small heaters if needed. Room temp can be held steady between 70 and 80 degrees Fahrenheit. · Two 400 watt HID hoods sealed to the room environment, yet vented for cooling with outside air piped in and back out again. · Two custom built transformers with igniters capable of starts at 15 feet way. The transformers are both located outside of the room for better heat management. · One de-humidifier when needed. · One homemade carbon scrubber. · Two fans for air circulation. Plant medium: · All-purpose potting mix added to that perlite and vermiculite plus a healthy dose of worm castings. This lot is ten seeds total that have been stored for two years from date of purchase. They were put into action two days ago and all but one have broken ground. The seedlings will stay under 24 hours of light for the first 7 days, then switch to an 18/6 schedule. At the end of 7 days, I'll plant the seedlings in 4 inch peat cups that will be eventually planted directly into 3 gallon pots once the seedlings have 4 sets of true leaves. I really don't start feeding until the plants tell me they need it by watching the leaves for signs of Nitrogen deficiency. Once I see this I'll get busy with the feeding schedule and try to pump as much N as they can handle before switching to 12/12. I'll be using Botanicare Pure Blend Pro to veg. I've always had the best of luck with veg using it.
My goal is to try and update this journal once a week. theStart.jpg underMH.jpg
Until next time...
Peace

Rep Power: 11 | | Guys, Thanks for the well wishes...I really appreciated that. I've been doing this for a very long while now and it never gets old for me. What I like best is the look on friend’s faces when I let them taste my work. The look even gets better when I toss them a half-ounce over and then refuse money for it. I don’t grow for money at all. That’s bad Juju in my opinion. I truly believe that good fortune should be shared with all who want it. I’ll post back when I have more to talk about from the garden. Until then… Peace 420EDGE | | The Following 4 Users Say Thank You to 420EDGE For This Useful Post:

Rep Power: 11 | | 420EDGE’s Log Star Date: October 14, 2009 The seedlings progressed better than I anticipated and I moved them into 4" peat pots yesterday. Out of the 10 seeds planted all but one made it. The one that didn't was totally my fault. It was a case of man hands . From here they will move into 3 gallon square pots of which will become their permanent home and finish out veg. In my book they are seedlings until the 5th leaf set develops. Once the 5th set is apparent I'll start counting days of veg. For me it ranges between 35 and 45. I like to let the plants show sex on their own before forced to. If they haven't by day 45 too bad, they get forced to sex under 12/12 anyway. Not to mention the nice root system that we be well established once put into 12/12 IMG_4466.jpg Until next time Peace 420EDGE | | The Following User Says Thank You to 420EDGE For This Useful Post:

Rep Power: 11 | | Here we are at day 22. All the plants are doing well and very compact to this point. Each of the plants are either working on their 5th or 6th set of leaves under both MH and HPS. I normally just use fluorescents to do the veg grow but was too lazy to change out lights. Some day I’ll get around to building a dedicated veg room. sounds like a great grow. What kind of yield do you end up with running 2 400w?

It was the first run in a new room. There were a few things needing to be dialed in a bit better setup wise.
Peace
