Default Grow #2: Neville's Haze, Chocolate Thai, PICS!

Hello again fellow growers and friends. I know I haven't updated you all on my recent operations, but the woman borrowed my digital camera (and all you guys out there know how hard it is to get your stuff back :-P).

Anyways, my grow is going very well. I have 6 plants in the bloom chamber (w/ 250watt HPS), 3 good sativas (found in a dank baggy), 2 Neville's Haze (clones I received from a fellow greenthumb), and 1 Chocolate Thai (seeds received from a friend).

The 3 sativas are the very large colas you see me holding - they are about 1 week from harvest. Very top heavy, I tie the main colas up with plant wire, some being the size of my fist! The Neville's Haze got too tall so I have trained her over with a coat hanger, she has been flowering for about 9-10 weeks and probably has 3-4 more to go. The small clone is also a Neville's Haze just put in. The Chocolate Thai is in the back right corner, I just put her in there a few days ago.

In the veg box with the CFLs you see an Aloe Vera plant (for burns and such), followed by 2 Neville's Haze clones, followed by 2 Chocolate Thai clones, then my Neville's Haze mommy.

I use Fox Farm's Grow Big, Tiger Bloom, and Big Bloom. Superthrive, MaxiCrop Seaweed Extract, and BlackStrap Molasses are also added at certain waterings. Yes, I know some of my plants are heat stressed, its quite hot in there when the lights are on (which is at night time) since its the summer and I dont have great ventilation out of the closet. I'm going to upgrade the size of my bloom box as soon as I have the $$$, as well as get some Y-splitters and 3 more CFLs for the veg.

Enjoy!

Nice output for a small space DieAbetic. I am really intrigued by your chocolate thai too... that is one I would like to sample.

The chocolate thai I had just put into flowering turned out to be a male :-(. oh well. I just put 5 more chocolate thai seeds in a cup of water and i'll plant 'em tomorrow :-). the sativa girls are starting to frost a little, trich's still cloudy/clear, my guess is another week or two (yeah i said that a week ago but this random strain seems to develop quite slow). neville's still clear, awhile to go on that one.

*edit* I also decided that since both of my strains are usually rather tall sativa, I will be using my 250w MH for the bloom. I need more compact buds.

Default More Pics!

Hey everyone! I got a new grow tent from HTG. set it up today, and I like the size upgrade. the girls are doing well. the top heavy sativas and Neville's Haze(with the coat hanger) have much more room, and i have trimmed most of the dead leaves. the intake is on the top left with a 80mm fan connected to the duct. on the right i got a 8" clip on fan at walmart, wire tied it to the frame, and pointed it out the 6" hole for exhaust. its not the best setup, but it will work for a few days until i get some good fans. i have a couple small fans that i put inside.

The sativas are about 10-20% amber, not much longer to go. Neville's haze still mostly clear/cloudy. All 5 of my chocolate thai seeds have sprouted in their jiffy cubes as you can see. *crosses fingers for females* The two Neville's Haze clones will be moved to flowering in another 1-2 weeks.

Enjoy!

Default Update!

Alright a little update for everyone. I chopped down one of the girls last night. leaving 2 more of the unknown sativa, 1 Neville's Haze ready to harvest in a few weeks, and one brand new NH you see in the back left. The 2 NH clones in the veg cab will transfer to flower very soon. As you can see 5 of 5 Chocolate Thai seeds popped.

The buds on my recently harvested (and about to be harvested) plants are very airy, with large spacing and a lot of leaves. i believe this to be from light leaks in my old box, over heating, and general stress. i am currently using earthwoom castings and perilite as my medium (60/40), i think that needs to change too (some moss, lime, and possibly organic ferts will be added). i have also decided that on my next paycheck i will be getting some hydro materials. i am thinking 1-2 5g DWC buckets along with the soil plants that I already have in there. Enjoy!
