Default Some updates..

I got some mylar today and lined the inside of the veg cabinet. I also made a DWC cloner like Bozo suggested. (Thanks Bozo!) I already had everything for it laying around, so that made it a bit easier. Right now I just have some Ivy clippings from work in there that I intend to plant around the house.

Also, my two little sprouts are doing well too. Here are some pics of the current setup..

thanks man, i appreciate the credit, i just don't deserve it, first 'cause i built that cloner with the knowledge i learned here, i just applied that knowledge, and second, it was you that built your cloner, it was you that applied the knowledge you learned here, just like i did before you and others did before me.

LOL, shit man, it won't be long and you'll be helping the newbies out yourself, at the rate you're going, you won't be a noob for long.

you're making some real progress man, it's a pleasure helping someone so willing to help themselves, keep it up man.

LOL, i can't wait to see the nug's that come out of that little cupboard!

rock on man

Hey GG,

Very nice setup. As has been said, it is nice to see experience applied.

One note: I think your office cuttings are "golden pothos", not ivy. Although, they vine like ivy.

Default You are right!!!

Yeah Pappy - you are correct.. I think it is Golden Pothos. I was looking on line last night and couldn't correctly identify it.. so I decided to call it Ivy. :-) Thanks for the info.. it was driving me crazy!

Default The GreenGoblin has been busy..

I haven't posted any updates for a bit, so I figured I would do so. I got the majority of what I was looking for to finish up the flower cabinet. I bought a fan and filter and just got those installed. I am going to end up redoing a bit of the ducting in the cabinet and move the light a bit to the left. I added an air diffuser which you can see in the one pic. Basically, you open and close the vent and it allows you to pull some air from that vent rather than all from the light. I still have some other work to do tomorrow adding a passive vent and rigging up all of the electric nicely, but the initial tests are pretty good. The air flow past the light was fantastic based on the smoke tests i performed. Lastly.. both of my cabinets are on casters now, so I can roll them about if I need to. I do like the portability of the cabinet idea. I can easily disconnect the power and roll them out. Cha-Ching!

Also, my seedlings are doing OK. One I have nearly killed and the other is doing great! lol.. so I popped another seed into germination and it took off as well. Not sure if you can see it in the pics, but there is some purple on the leaves and stems of these little buggers! Mmmmmm... purple! I think the one I nearly killed will come back. I re-potted it and hasn't gotten worse. It actually seems to be rooting a bit.

Anyway.. here are some pics. I am sure I forgot something, but enjoy!

Hey GG. Those babies look like they have been heat stressed. How hot is it in that cabinet? Do you have a fan blowing on them? Do you have a hi-low thermometer? They will come back if you are kinder to them. Check out the first few pages of my journal, my babies looked like yours! What is the ph of the water you are using? It could be ph as well. Something isn't right babes. See if we can figure it out.

Hi Jangel - It could be heat stress. The cabinet maxed out around 84 degrees. It fluctuates between 74 -84. I do have a fan blowing on them.. I am not 100% sure on the PH of the soil... I am color blind and it is really tough to read the stinking color coded charts. It *looks* to me to be around the high 6's.. around a 6.8 or so PH wise. At first I thought i was over watering them, but they seem to dry out pretty good with the fan blowing on them. Thanks for the info!

If it stays at 84 that could be your problem-o. What water are you using? My ph was too high also. I use Osmosis water now so it is not a prob. IF you are using tap water, that could also be your problem. let me know. Sorry about the colour blindness! We all have our crosses to bear.
