It looks like the change of water is helping. The one plant is not fairing very well, but the other seems to be putting on more bulk. I haven't tossed the one plant yet, as it looks like it is still trying to recover... if ever so pitifully. So.. it won't get the axe yet.
On the larger of the two plants, you can see there is some burn on the leaf. Can anyone identify the issue? I did have water issue which is hopefully clearing up, but not sure if this is another sign. I did find this.. Grow Marijuana FAQ, Cannabis cultivation - marijuana growing tips & photos
"Potassium - Too much sodium (Na) displaces K, causing a K deficiency. Sources of high salinity are: baking soda (sodium bicarbonate "pH-up"), too much manure, and the use of water-softening filters (which should not be used). If the problem is Na, flush the soil. K can get locked up from too much Ca or ammonium nitrogen, and possibly cold weather. "
Sounds like it is due to the water softener issue, but just want to be 100% sure. The plants have been flushed, and I just started the bigger one on a very very light solution of Green Lightnin' to hopefully give them a little boost.
Tomorrow, I should be able to pick up a PPM and PH meter to help better control the water and soil conditions. The meters are supposed to be hanna meters and he also has a ecoplus 265cfm fan that I will most likely grab just to have on hand. He is letting it all go for around $80.
The new seedling is doing well too.. This is the replacement for the one I napalmed with the water softener. It is the last pic in the series.
Live and learn.. and then learn some more.

Hey GG, it will take time to recover, but if it is not right up dead, and looks to be growing some new leaves, it will recover. I am glad you flushed them with the ph'ed water. I was going to tell you to make sure you do that, to correct the water prob. Please tell me you flushed with 3 times the size of the pot of water. That will clear it out. Hold off on the nutes for a while. It might burn them right now and you don't want that. It is better to just let them recover in their own time and not feed them till you see new growth. And take off the damaged leaves as these will take the plant energy to heal them when they are beyond help. They will branch from where ever the old leaves are.
Hey don't feel bad. If we never made mistakes we might never learn. Just take a look at the first link in my sig to see what my plants went through and they all lived! Ain't over till they are crispy! LOL!

Thanks j-angel. I did flush with 3x the amount of water, and actually re-potted the one at the same time. I am working with the spring water now, so I think I will be OK. Still trying to get a PH and PPM meter..
The new seedling is doing well as is the bigger of the two originals. That one will need some time to recover, but the other two are fine. The newest seedling was never given tap water.. only spring water.

I have my PH and PPM meter on order. Hopefully they will be here this week. Also ordered some Hydroton and some rockwool. I was out and found a ton of drip irrigation stuff today too, so I have a few different options for how I want to set up either the flower or the veg room. Ideally, I want to get two of these plants to the point that I can clone them and then sex the clones to determine what they are. Then take a few good clones and flower 2 in dirt and 1 in hydro at the same time. Could be interesting!
Again, I think these were feminized seeds, but I bought them two years ago when I was in Amsterdam and don't remember. Damn you space cake! Anywho.. I hope to keep one or both of these plants as mothers if all pans out.
I am also waiting on my tempered glass for the HPS in the flower cabinet. I changed a few things around in there just to make it easier to raise and lower the light, and also swithched to a heavier chain. Don't want her coming down... :-0

Rep Power: 142 | | Unleashing the fury of the 400W HPS!
Hi Everyone! I haven't posted any updates in a little while, so I figured now would be a good time. I just got the tempered glass for my 400w HPS and got it installed. It dropped the temp in the flowering chamber significantly (down to 83 max from 98). So, since I have nothing to flower yet.. I moved the plants from the veg cab over to take advantage of the additional lumens. I may still add some CFLs to throw some additional light spectrum at them.
The plants have been doing pretty well over the last two weeks. The water issue seems to be corrected and they are taking off! The one I nearly killed has come back from the grave and the other original plant is loving it's new 5 gallon bucket. It has a stem like a small tree and is REALLY bushy. I may try taking some clones from it over next week. I have also added a few more plants from some good bagseed I had over the past two weeks. One was from a batch of of "donkey dick" as the guy called it.. and another is from a batch of Lime Kush. I really like the taste of the lime kush, so I hope this one hangs in.. it is still just sprouting and went into soil yesterday.
Lastly.. Can anyone tell me if these last pics are indications of preflowers? They are just off main the stem, but also prevelent on other shoots too.
Here are some pics..

They are early preflowers. the last one looks to have nads coming but it is too early to be positive, let it get bigger. Here is what I mean, in the left of the pic. This is from your last pic. The other could be a girl. But wait longer, as you cannot be sure at this stage.

Hey everyone -
I haven't posted any updates to my journal in a little while, so I thought I would document some of my changes and progress.
I took five clones from the largest plant and 3 or 4 seem to have some roots popping in my bubble cloner. I expect the others to show some roots in the next few days since two were taken two days later. I also started scrogging the monster in the bucket. The stem was so thick i had to position the screen a little higher than I wanted but it should be fine. I keep tucking the growth under the screen as it gets long enough. I also am using jangles LST method with some small chain. This is letting me pull the lower branches out wide to get more light and reach for the outside of the screen. It is a bit of a chess match trying to plan how this will fill in. I did break the top of one shoot trying to get it under the screen, but I saved it and now it will be another clone.. making 6 from that plant. Once it fills the screen, it will go to flower.
The other plants in the collection are doing well too.. just vegging. I can't wait to get the lime kush moving along.. i really liked that smoke.

Hey Sock - Thanks!
The fan and carbon filter are the HID Hut combo that was reviewed here.. but it no longer is listed on their site. It is a 6" 250 CFM. Not sure why, but there is a post by johnnyappleweed with info on how he built his filter. I checked the bubble cloner again today. I am sooo surprised at how fast these clones put on roots once they start. I love this whole growing process.. every aspect fascinates me.
Also, I changed the lighting cycle to 18 hours on 6 off, just to cut down on overall electric usage.

Hey everyone.. Just wanted to post some pics of the clones I pulled out of the bubble cloner the other day. The roots started to really pack on and looked like a vertebrae. They went into soil and are adjusting to the new home.
