|  First Indoor grow, An experiment with L.E.D.s  SORRY THIS IS LATE: THE INCUBATER= Cup saucer/paper towel/rooting & starter solution/quart ziplok baggie(add your favorite seeds and your off)... THE NURSERY=A foil lined U-Haul wardrobe box/65w 6500k CFL flood fixture(on pulley system to maintain 2"of clearence above plant tops)... THE SOIL=A mix of garden soil(no fertilizer or moist gels) Vermiculite,Perlite,and peat moss THE NUTRIENTS=Root stimulator & starter solution (5-15-5)Miracle Gro(12-4-8)Worm poop tea(?-?-?) 1 tps epson salt per 5" pot/occasionally 2oz per plant of "Scheppes SODIUM FREE Club Soda"(for Co2) THE EXPERIMENT=To see for myself about LED lighting. I started with 8 seedlings(from bag seeds),a foil lined wardrobe box,a65w 6500k flood fixture,4-225 LED 12.25"x12.25"panels,24v circulation and exhaust fans(exhaust was thermostatically controlled)All was great until DAY 5: in the nursery the 24v t-stat & transformer fried causing box temp to rise to 93*I lost 2 of the seedlings due to this mishap and delayed the start of the veg cycle a few days.(I quickly placed 9" high vol. fan in the box to control circ & exhaust)... DAY10: Changed out CFL to 2-225 LED panels...(check out Bushy Baby in the Gallery) DAY 14=Added 2 more 225 LED panels and reconfiguired panel arrangement & raised plants closer to panels... | ||||||||

| first, those aren't sexed clones nor do you have a comparison group you grow or? besides that, i will watch this grow - good luck to you on this one!

|  The LEDs Were A bust After 10wks of veg. using just the LEDs the plants were only 8"-12"tall I removed the rear set of LEDs,centered overhead LEDs,and added 2-4 bulb lite strips on each side(angled towards center of box).Within 48hrs all plants grew about 2".(2 of the 6 diddnt make it) I transplanted them into 1 gal pots and they have grown 4"-6" per week since.I vegged them for another 4wks.At that time I put the 3 largest into bloom/the main cola snapped off of Leana the day of darkness so I cloned it and put it to veg with the smaller plant. I built a secret garden bloom room 8'w X 7'd X 7'h out of 1"x3"s and POLY SHIELD sheathing(it's mylar over 1/2" foam board in 4'x8' panels)set up exhaust and a/c along with a 24"x42" light panel consisting of 2-6 bulb lite strips with 2-65w soft CFLs and 4-23w CFLs in each strip.The bloom room also contains my veg box. BLOOM WEEK 1: Slim and Leana started showing their hairs and Joy showed me his balls(So off with his head) BLOOM WEEK 2: I got Bushy baby to grow another 4" so I put her into bloom so she will be 1 week late to harvest. I transplanted all 3 ladies into 2 gal pots and was able to gather 10 clones in the process(my plan is to veg clones while the others bloom, and after harvest start the clone cycle of cut, veg and bloom) Leana is off to a great start she recovered from pruning and has set out some great looking buds.Slim is a little slower but showingsome nice bud formations. And I know I called Bushy baby a lady already because within a few days of being in bloom she started getting hairy. | ||||||||

| Looking pretty nice there Johnny!  I might suggest getting those CFL's closer to the plants if you can...like less than 4". Also, adding some supplementary CFL's to lightn up the lower parts of the plant (middle area) would really help the budding in there, as the top CFL's can do a good job there, but don't penetrate deep enough to mature those nice nugs part way down from the top. Keep at it...nice flower room too!  ISO

|  Week 3 In The Bloom Room After posting week 2 pics Leana turned into a hermi so I isolated her far away from the bloom room(she will provide feminized seeds for the next season)This week I lowered both plants 6" transplanted 8 clones(2 of 10 died) into 4" pots & started 4 new clones.Slims producing nice buds and is growing strong.
