Good point with the jug, never even thought of that!! Actually, it's just distilled water with a teaspoon of molasses in it. But since I have yet to feed them anything, except molasses, and the soil mix should have enough to carry them through to flower, haven't mixed up anything yet.
Hey, I did just get some Liquid Karma I was going to try with the molasses, any suggestions on the amout and frequency of Karma during veg and flowering?
Thanks, but you did get me thinking of Moonshine, great stuff when you can get it from the south!! North Wilksboro, NC, moonshine capital of the world, and birthplace of stock cars!! | | The Following User Says Thank You to insub4u2 For This Useful Post: | |

Just set up a neat tip tonight that works really well that some people have shared. I hung a string with a washer on the end 24 inches from my light, and tied knots at 18 and 12 in to know how far I am from the girls as I raise or lower the light. Doh! It's getting fun to watch the girls grow. Here's Sunday mornings pics. By the way, I began reading some organic gardening, hydro blogs regarding light distance and much of the advice bears out my experience, 2-4 ft from tops of canopy. 4 ft is too much, but it seems my girls are much happier now at about 24 inches light distance, and they don't seem to be stretching, just growing faster!
Also, notice the string hanging from light, at 24" so I can measure distance, with knots tied at 18 and 12 inches.

Rep Power: 201 | | Looking good insub, those baby's are are getting ready to take off. 24" seems perfect right now. The power of any one light bulb falls off exponentially after a given distance. When you gang multiple fixtures in a grow room you'll find that 4'to 6' works but, you're flooding the room with lumen's. |

Quite often the simplest solutions work the best!
We have an infinate capability to complicate things, but I always say KISS! Or "Keep it simple, stupid! "
....and no, I am not calling anyone stupid!
Good for you sweetie!

Well, I was surprised this am when I filled the humidifier, overnight, my girls started to stink! No flowering or anything of course, as they are still vegging, but I was surprised to open he door and be hit in the face with that strong, leafy, cholorophyll smell, kind of like being in a forest in the springtime. They haven't smelled a bit so far, so was taken back some. The good news is, I didn't smell a thing till I opened the door, so must be sealed pretty tight.
I gave them their first dose of Liquid Karma a 2 days ago, so maybe that jump started them? They are all looking pretty darn sexy though!

I'm not sure, they are growing fast, but is the uneven color on the leaves nute burn? I used 1/3 cup gal Mex guano, and 1/2 c per gal Indo. It sounded a little hot at the time, but was a recommended recipe.
Am I over analyzing? Notice the deformed leaf. It almost looks like they want to grow so fast, they can't keep up.
Almans rule!

One deformed leaf does not a problem make.
Relax and let them grow!

You're kidding, right? Isn't this the time to make all those new grower mistakes, like feeding them a smoothie of organic pizza (whole wheat crust of course!) bananas's, ph'd water and bat guano? Yum!
They're getting fat and sassy without me.

Here here! My first time was really ruff! We had the police here and everthing. i was alone here with a family and was terrified. A guy got jealous and called we-tip. Thankfully, i am fully legal and was supported 100% by the sheriff's dept. They were much more interested in the person that had made the report than they were in my little legal and non-threatening operation. BUT really really scary!!
Glad i lived through it. More glad that I will never have to again!
its always something tho isn't it?

They're getting fat and sassy without me. | Just like any new parent:
THE first kid: everything sterile, all the rules followed, every time they wimper you go to emerg. Baby book 10 volumes thick, on everything.
The second kid: you kind of sterilize for the first few months, follow some of the RULES. Only go to emerg if they have any kind of fever or a bit of a fall. Might have one baby book.
The third kid: You put the soother in your mouth to get rid of the dirt, then pop it in. Let the older kids lead the way, no sense hanging back just because the third is youngest. Only go to emerg if that is where the ambulance takes you after the blood has spurted all over. Stay up late at night copieing things out of other kids books cause third kid needs it for school tomorrow.
ROTFLMAO!
YES! I SAID RELAX! |

If I could add something, first time growers need to make sure to develop a personal and unique relationship with EACH plant(although this usually happens anyways ). Technically speaking, talking to your plants is beneficiary simply because of the CO2 exchange, but the bond you form by endless hours of looking at each gal "eye to eye" allows you to notice strengths and weaknesses in each plant, and you will soon find yourself giving each plant the individual care YOU know it requires. above all, heavy harvests are a product of care and creativeness.
