Talking Earth Tainer grow.

ok, so i figured i would start my grow journal a bit early because i have come across a super cool method when it comes to the overall watering of the plants. its called a "Earth Tainer"

heres the link to the website:

About Us

heres a 20 min. video:

Tomato Festival - Carmel TomatoFest - Event Video

and heres the construction Guide:

http://earthtainer.tomatofest.com/pd...tion-Guide.pdf

what the earth tainer is made to do, is to mimic the earth. the container helps the plants with getting the right amount of water it need as well as the right amount of oxygen. the plant takes care of its self. when it needs water it will pull the water from the reservoir and when it does that, oxygen mixes into the soil at the same time. creating the perfect conditions for the plant. You just have to put water in the reservoir and bam! no more stressing over watering them again.

basically after i came across this, i just had to try it out. Later that day i went out and got some of the supplies. i still need to pick up a few more things but soon i will have it made and ill have pictures of the construction.

since the container is 31 gallons i plan on using it like a soil bed. i plan on 10 beautiful females. but do you think that is too much for the space it provides?

I made two EarthTainers a couple of months ago for a small closet grow under CFL's and LED's and it's working great. I only had to add water every two weeks when the plants were small and vegging but now they're half way through flowering and about four feet tall and I need to fill the reservoir every four days. One thing though the EarthTainer is very heavy and hard to move when they're full of soil & water, about 140 pounds each. I was going to grow three plants in each E-Tainer but decided on only two plants each which has worked out very well. Three plants each would have been way too crowded unless you do a micro grow. Here's a photo from a few weeks ago, the girls are still sleeping right now so I don't want to disturb them but they're a lot bigger right now.

Did the guys on the video plan their outfits that way, or was it just dumb luck (great minds think alike)? Hempy bucket seems more to my liking and I don't think I have to wear dockers and a denim shirt to operate it. I know, I'm an asshole.

Here's a new photo of the best White Rhino top bud. She's getting some good sparkles and a sweet perfume smell.

Thank you Smoking Joe.
I started them in the beginning of August when I received my MMJ card from the State. We can't have dispensaries in Nevada, they think we're supposed to be farmers in the middle of the desert I guess. I live in an apartment complex so I can't grow outdoors.

Patrong I find the ETainer working out very well indoors, no maintenance and easy to add water into the pipe with the green cap on the front end of the Tainer. The LED's & CFL's emit almost no heat in the small unventilated closet, even with the door closed. The white plastic over the soil is to help keep water evaporation down. The two plants on the right of the photo are White Rhino from mail order Amsterdam seeds and the two plants on the left are from bagseed of some potent smoke that a friend brought back from Phoenix a few months ago.

Thanks Vegas, for the insight. What I plan on growing is some "top 44" alot smaller then the ones you have but I'm gonna just try to see how many I can fit. Doc says I need an oz. a day so I wanna see if I can supply myself with that much. The strain says it can go from start to finish in 6 weeks. I know it might seen a bit crazy to try to get that much for a first time grower but it's a goal. I'll also be getting the rest of the supplies for the earth tainer this weekend. Works been keeping me really busy.

Yes that Top 44 looks good from what I read about it. If you're going to try 6 plants or more per Tainer I'd advise to plant them close to the edge of the soil where it meets the plastic of the Tainer so they have more empty space in the center between the rows to bush out. I wish I had more room in the closet cuz I can't even reach very far back anymore it's getting so dense.
Also I made a plastic liner in the Tainer tub so it will be easier to clean it out after a few grows. I used Hefty Heavy Duty 3mil 42 gallon Contractor Clean-up bags and cut them open to fit well, the soil & water in the reservoir will keep the bags plastered against the Tainer walls and bottom.
An oz. per day huh? That will be interesting, haha you must have meant a week or month? You gonna make oil or smoke it?
