Not much to see for today. I inspected the nugget and a good majority of the hairs have turned red and it compacted itself a good amount. I can smell the chloro leaking out of the buds and it's slowly changing back into the potent ganja odor that the plants give off. Everything is looking good and tasty. I put slight indirect air circulation on the buds starting today as well. Stay tuned.
Let us welcome our newly inducted holiday which we all know as 'Harvest Day'. On that day we shall celebrate and give thanks to Mary Jane for all of her blessings. We shall share our harvest and be merry! For Harvest Day is no ordinary day, but it is a day where we enjoy the fruits of our labor and truly see the beauty of life! CAN I GET A HALLELUJAH!!! CAN I GET AN AMENNN'NAH!!!!!!
Woah, sorry.....what I meant to say was don't worry because soon we'll celebrate our new holiday and share our harvests. It'll be quite a day to look back on all of the times we've used the black market and all the crap we've been through just to enjoy our passion and now finally we will be given the gift of the freedom to be high. A.....amen? lol sounds good to me!

a day were we wrap our blessings in frosted leaves, and humble dressings of kief on trees. when all of mankind can think alike. cause we'll all be f'in high as a kite.
Well today I checked up on the nugget and it's looking real nice. The stems are dry to the point they crack so I know it's ready for curing. I got a quick shot of the nugget but excuse the blurryness. I will update when I've cured it for a few days and update you guys on the taste and smell! It smells pretty damn nice already.
Alright so today I inspected all of the bud sites for maturity. Using my judgment, shorty has at least two weeks until she's finished. Upon inspecting Big Lady, she was in the 50/50 ratio of being where I want her to be and so I harvested three of her shoots. I am looking for a sativa (cerebral) high from my buds as this is my personal stash and I enjoy this high a lot more. I'm basically waiting until I see all cloudy trics with the addition of one or two amber ones and that is my method for harvesting.
This method is working very well for me considering the last nugget I took was such a smooth high and tasted awesome. It was a soaring high where as soon as you take the first hit you feel like jumping out of your chair and doing something. I don't like my weed to cater to my laziness and I think it's better for it to boost your energy while being high at the same time. haha (just my opinion).
Anyway, this being the first time growing, I definitely noticed how much weight the buds lose during the drying process! As you can see in one of the last pictures, the final product dried was 1.2 grams and unfortunately I did not get a picture but it was approx. 2.3 before drying. Basically every bud endures a 70-75% weight loss. Crazy isn't it? Luckily I got nice fat buds...and I have no complaints.
Pictures
Big lady with about half of her buds gone. (couldnt get the entire main cola in the shot...sorry!)
Shorty's main cola literally multiplies overnight. To get a better idea of the size, she is the length of my forearm and about the width of a coke can. AWESOME!
Another shot showing shorty's fat ASS
One of Big Lady's smaller buds before drying
The same Big Lady bud after drying getting weighed in (1.2 grams, nice!)
All of shorty's buds share the same thickness. Whatever strain this is definitely does NOT mess around!

Today marks her last day on earth...yet her life is just beginning. Think of the happiness her buds will create and all the fun places she gets to go. Granted it all ends in flames hahah...but seriously...she has done me well and I am appreciative of her life on earth. Thanks for this beautiful nugget.
I weighed in the nuggets starting with the main cola but minus the shoots that are in the middle of drying. I can't get a good reading on those until they are done.
Main Cola - 32.5g
Biggest - 12.6g
Bigger - 8.0g
Big - 5.0g
Small - 3.5g
Smallest - 2.3g
Total Yield before Drying: 63.9g
That's roughly a little bit over 2 1/4 ounces. Now based on the weight loss from previous dried nuggets I would guess that I will end up with about an ounce dried. Hopefully this rings true because that will mean I can get an ounce from each plant. If keeping a plant this small still yields an ounce then I am very excited about that.
I removed Big Lady's resting place and transplanted the haze crossbreed in flowering into her pot. It will fill her shoes well I think. It is almost the size that Big Lady was before she flowered but with a much better stature. All of the haze plant's tops are growing pretty even since I have topped them. Let's just keep this winning streak going and get me another female!
Enjoy some pictures.

Hey guys things have been great with the harvest. I took down Shorty and dried out her buds. Shorty's main cola weighed in at a whopping 45 grams and has a nice aroma although I find it to be not as strong as Big Lady's smoke. It seems that the size of Shorty was in trade for some potency and taste but it still holds up as a great high.
I am definitely happy with my results and the success of my first grow and really think that if I invest in some bank seeds that I can use what I learned so far to create some REALLY dank bud. I'm thinking along the lines of some PPP or Aurura Indica. It will be nice to have some strong indica smoke to contrast the cerebral buzz this bag seed gives off.
I find that personally I prefer variety in my smoking routine and cannot stand even the most nicely grown stuff in too much of repetition. I like to have a choice when smoking which can cater to my current situation or current mood. It's almost down to a science now in which I just need the utensils to make it happen.
The haze cross breed is currently flowering with about a 50-60% chance that it's a female. I'm almost sure that I recognize the same preflower that I noticed on my previous two females about two weeks into flowering. I topped this baby in the mid-vegetation phase and I must say it has responded very well to it. I am trying to keep this plant compact but still well developed because I have noticed that height doesn't necessarily dictate the yeild in the end result. The growth on this plant after topping sky rocketed and developed really well. There is six main tops that are strong and healthy which are accompanied by tons of smaller tops growing from every node. Let's just hope all these tops fill with nice buds!!! Sometimes these plants can be deceiving so I'm not going to raise hopes as of now but I definitely have confidence that it is indeed a female as well. My winning streak may continue!! Stay tuned.
Blah blah blah blah
P.S. If anyone is actually reading this...Do you think there would be a benefit to topping each of the six main stalks to double up even more? Also, is it safe to do so in the beginning stages of flowering?

not shabby at all!
I appreciate the publicity without a doubt but I also cherish advice and suggestions! I am far from perfection and would like the input of veterans like yourself and the gang of experts that reside here. Do you think I should top it more since it has responded so well or just leave it be?
Will it put stress on the plant to hold the weight of more tops rather then the normal growth? I'm also thinking about building some sort of trellis system to keep all of the tops uniform and so they all receive equal light. What do you guys think? ANYONE!? haha
I took a few pictures of some of the dried buds that came from Shorty. I was staring at them for quite some time and thought about how the colors of the bud reminded me of Halloween. I would say this is perfect timing and I look forward to celebrating the holiday with a nice jar of cured Halloween bud.
Enjoy!

I am not a big prunner or topper or scoger or any of that or I would have offered a suggestion earlier
but since you asked....I think topping at this time will quite a bit of stress and wouldn't do it...but a trellis can't hurt to distribute the buds evenly even if you don't have a perfect canopy
the budz you harvested already look Great...
sometimes a lack of feedback with so many views just means folks have nothing constructive to add because they think it is good the way you are doing it.

I agree with the suggestion to not top during flower which is why I did all my topping during the early vegetation stages because I wanted it to have a good head start. The thing with topping is that it's usually strain specific and doesn't work well with all plants. Things are looking good and healthy with this haze and I only topped it once. It grew all of those tops just from one snip which is what I found really cool and can't wait to see it develop.
I would say that this journal is pretty much finished. All the plants have been harvested now and are dried and smokable. I am very happy with the results and love the finished product. I'm going to order some bank seeds within the next week or so and start up some quality bud production now that I've learned so much. I believe that using bank seeds rather then bag seed will make all the difference.
Keep an eye out for my new grow journal. Thanks for everyone's support and thanks for looking!
