Wow Fman I feel your pain with the heat issues. I've come to love the winter since growing indoors. Good luck bro and just be patient as eventually you will have your grow area all dialed in and you will be telling someone else what I am telling you now.

Especially with the heat fman, you need to exhaust it out somehow. It is better than nothing till you have the scratch. Hopefully the cool air being there will help. Let me know what your temps are like today, babes.

Peace.

I raised my light up about 2 1/2 inches also to help with the heat. When I left this morning it was 75 at planter level (top of 6 inch planter). Dont know what it was at the plant tops, felt cool though. When I got home at 3:50 (lights out at 4) The temp, at the planter level was 80. Yesterday, I also moved 6 - 2 week old clones into the flower room. They looked good today, no sign of heat stress, but they are much shorter and farther away from the light. I also moved my fan from the ceiling pointing down, to the floor blowing up. Hopefully that and lengthening the air supply line will get more cool air around my plants. Ironicly ,talking to the guy at the hydro store yesterday, he told me he just lost his crop, from heat, 3 mothers and about a dozen clones. We live in a valley, and summers here are HOT. Next Week Im going to build a new patio roof, That should help with the heat radiating off the roof of the patio to the walls of my room. Thanks for the help and input, Ill let you know how all works out.

You are on 12/12 light? Too bad you didn't have your lights come on at night. That is what I do and they have dark during the heat of the day. I have the lights come on at 4 pm and go off at 4 am. This way they miss the heat of the day and the power is cheaper at night here as well. Maybe think about this for next time. You could even slowly switch them, like make it one hr more either end and keep doing that till the light is at night etc.

The temps are better now. That 5 degrees can make a world of difference in your plants.

Keep me posted and I will keep brainstorming.

You shouldn't feel bad if the guy at the hydro store lost his plants and he has all kinds of toys to pick from.

Good luck.

J- angel--Yes 12/12 in the flower side and 18/6 in the veg side. My room is really one room with a light proof shade (like a dark room) seperating the 2 sides. Funny you suggested that, Ive been thinking about running everything at night and sleeping in the day. The plants, not me. One of the nice things about being retired is that I have no sechedule. I can do what ever I want, whenever I want, as long as it doesnt cost anything, So that is a very doable option. The only thing I was concerned about was night (really daytime) temps. With out the lights on, in the day ,my room would probibly be some where around 73 to 75 , I thought it should be cooler when the plants are sleeping.

I used to run the lights at night in the summer until I got everything dialed in and it worked great, good advice jangel. 73-75 with the lights off will be fine. Plus you wont have high temps with the lights on. My flower room is at 70 in the dark almost every day every summer so trust me, until you get it all squared away 73-75 aint gonna hurt em. Just gotta keep alot of fresh air movement in their though this will also help keep the humidity down. During lights on in flower and in my veg room I keep a fan blowing inbetween the light and the canopy to disperse the heat and I string a temp guage right across the center of the room also inbetween the light and the canopy, this is the hottest place of most concern. Your concern is the temps at canopy level. If thats straight then the whole room is good.I also have no schedule and I'm able to be with my girls 24/7 isn't it great.

My fresh air intake is located about 20' under the, I have a 200cfm booster fan inside the 10" duct, to help move air into my room. Because of the distance, the air coming into the room seems to a lot less than 200cfm's, but just enough to supply cooler air without blowing air out any seems or cracks in any of the walls. (My room is about 95% air tight, lots of dap silicon, I mean LOTS) but I mention, seems and cracks just incase. I dont run any fans at night, but if I switiched hours ,leaving the booster fan on would help keep nighttime(really day) temps down. Maybe over the next couple of days Ill start changing the hours.

If you do it gradually and do it over 12 days with one hr per day added it will not make a difference, unless you tell them the time that is! LOL! BUT very gradually. You do not want that girl to hermie! And also try and keep one fan on in the room to stirr up that air. It helps keep it cooler and they always need fresh air. Keep your exhaust going as well. That will keep the air moving, not stagnant.

Good luck babes.

I have done something similar to this as far as adjusting the photoperiod, but way more drastic and accidental and even though the plants took 90 days to finish up it was one of my best yields to date. Surprisingly they didn't hermie.
They were grown in Walmart soil with those little time release fert balls in it and miracle gro nutes with no pH meter. Go figure.
