Default Week 2

Today is the start of week 2. I killed off the 5 hermi/males, and am down to 1 female. It seems to be doing ok, but I think Im over watering. The timer is set for 3 - 10 min. floods a day. The upper leaves are a slight yellow and the lower leaves the tips are curling down. I trimmed some of the upper leaves so the little buds could get all the light available. DOES this look like overwatering?

What are your temps like sweetie? It looks more like heat stress to me.
Here is the plant abuse chart link. See what you can find. http://www.greenpassion.org/f16/plan...ietzsche-2102/

That is your problem, babes. It is heat stress. Any way you can get that lower? Highest for any length of time you should reach is 78f, a few degrees, either way is okay and dropping down even 10 at night is still fine, I have even heard going right down to 50 has been okay, but not the high range, gives them the hiberdeegiberes!

Do you have fans blowing on them? what about an air conditioner?

1. Lower temps? Ill try, but my room is on the patio and when it gets over 95 outside I have trouble keeping the temps down.
2. Fans? Yes, but may be Ill get a bigger one.
3. A.C. no way, but the air from the house blows into the room, when I keep the back door open. The house is only a swamp cooler, not REAL A.C.

Maybe I better start adding co2.

Well, if the house is cooler, then in the heat of the day, try keeping the door open. And add all the fans you can. I have 3 just in my veg area and it is small, so anything you can add will help. Try aiming them at your lights to move the hot air around, away from the plants. Any way you can get cooler air, say from under the house as a cold air return low in the grow? That might push the hot air higher away from the plants. Just brainstorming here sweetie. I know ISO has probs with heat stress so maybe see what he says if he comes on. I know he is away on biz right now I think. Also, try freezing large containers full of water, put them in front of your fans in the heat of the day, that could help you. Then refreeze every night.

Hope that helps you.

I think this might help. I extended my fresh air supply ,to right under the plant. The air comming in from under the house ranges from 70 to 75 depending on outside temps. Should I trim off the wilting leaves?

Just leave them for now. When they yellow take them off. That might just do the trick. Good luck babes. It will push the hot air away from the plants. You do have an exhaust in there don't you? If it is high in the grow it will take out the hot air and the cool air will replace it.

Yes I have an exaust, but Im sure I could use a more powerful fan for it. Its only a dyi set up , I put a 9" desk fan inside a 5 gal bucket. then put 8" holes in the top and bottom of the bucket. It works ok, maybe about 350 cfm's, but I really should get a 600 or 750 cfm fan. As soon as I get some "extra" money Ill get one.
