Thanks . I hope so. I was looking at my plants today , trying to see if there are any signs of sex yet. I think only 3 nights of 12/12 is a little to soon. Thanks to help from many members i have the fly (gnat) problem under control. The vinegar and water seemed to do the trick. I went to the hydro store today and got some spray for them also, its all organic, and mostly sesame oil. Its night time for the flowers now, so Ill check on them in the morning. Now all I need to do is bring down the RH from 60% to 62% down to about 50%. Im going to try a bucket of rock salt for that. Bought a heater for my bubble cloner today. The cloner works good, but I am only getting about 50% and it takes 7 to 10 days for roots. I think heating the water a little should improve my survival rate. Well that ends day 4 of my flower trip .

'mornin' Fman. glad you got the fly's under control, they're more a pain
in the ass than a real threat. i recently went through a battle with some
very nasty spider mites (i had the flys too), i tried several things and then
i read about 'No Pest Strips' from Opie Yutts, he's a member on a different
forum. anyway, he swore by these strips (not the kind that's just sticky
stuff and no poisons) so i decided to try them. man, did they work, got
rid of the mites and the flys.

anyway, you should be getting near 100% with your bubbler, if you're not
then it's just a matter of figuring out why you're not and fixing it. often
times just getting the cloner off the floor will warm the res enough.

anyway, here's a couple of pics of mine, including the wrapper for the
'No Pest Strip' so if you ever want to try it you'll know what it looks like.

i'm no expert man but you might want to thumb thru my thread on
bubble cloners, i get near 100% and so should you, at least 85 - 90%.

hope this helps and if you have any questions, i'll do my best to answer
them.

P.S. lol, i attached the wrong pics so the only way i could figure to fix
it was to delete the other message, anyway, here are the right pics

Thanks. This is the stuff the guy at the hydro store sold me. I think the glass of vinegar and water did the most good. The spray seems to control the ones in the hydrotron, and there only 2 stuck to the strip. This is my cloner . I really think it is the water temp. I bought a aquairum heater at walmart yesterday, but I dont think it works. Il exchange it today. Also I think the other reason It takes so long for my clones to root is that I only leave the lights and air on for 18 hours, not 24 like I really should. But then I would need a seperate space. I thought of making a cabnet or something UNDER the table that the cloner sits on now.

Hey again - Looks like you are staying on top of everything as it comes up. One thing I will add to what justanotherbozo said.. when using that bubble cloner, I think I was originally setting the stem of my clone into the water.. which caused me problems. I changed them to about 1/4" above the water line and I had much better success. Also, make sure the PH of the water isn't too high.. mine creeps up and I have to bring it back down to around 5.8 every two days or so.. then it is time to change the water anyway. For me, It seems to take about five days to see some roots forming then they start to go crazy with roots.

Hope it helps.. good luck! You will get some clones popping soon!

a couple of things, first, the people at the hydro store want to make money,
that's not to say that they will give you bad advice, just that
they want to sell stuff. also, everything they sell will be more costly
than if you can find the same product somewhere else. for example,
non-poisonous fly paper is really cheap at the local hardware store.

as for your cloner, it looks ok although i'd get a can of spray paint and
spray the bottom to make it light proof (not critical, just better)

another thing is, your cuttings are too big, the longer the stem is, and the
more leaves there are, the harder it is for the cutting to take root.
what you want to start with is a cutting about 3 inchs long with the new
growth tip at the top and one set of leaves lower down, and you want to
cut those leaves in half to reduce transpiration.
the bottom of the cutting (inside the cloner) should be cut at a 45 degree
angle and scarified (that just means scrapeing the bottom inch of the cutting,
kinda like gently scrapeing the paint off a pencil).
also, you want the cuttings suspended above the solution and not submerged.

i kinda think that water temp isn't your problem, it's the size of the cuttings

heres a link to a thread by a guy who will blow your mind, he doesn't use
a bubble cloner but it doesn't matter, his cuttings would root very well
in a cloner.
International Cannagraphic Magazine Forums - **DrBuds Bonsai Mum's- How To for You**

anyway, good luck dude, keep up the good work

Thoes clones are 5 days old, no roots yet. They are about 1/4 to 3/8 above the water. I dont have any meters yet, but the drips turn orangeyellow (about 5 to 6) This is my first hydro grow, there is so much stuff to get. Life was much easier when I just threw seeds out in the back yard. But then I wasnt able to harvest every 2 weeks. Although I dont do THAT right now either. If all goes well I should be doing that by the holidays. BUDS make great gifts.

oh yeah, and FYI, a low tech way to warm the res is to just take a
cardboard box, flip it upside down and put one of your clamp lights
inside it without the reflector and with a 40 watt incandescent bulb.
then just put the cloner on top of the box, the heat from the bulb will
rise and raise the temps in your res. just make sure the bulb isn't touching
the box (keep in mind it's made of paper, lol), and no bigger than 40 watts. lol

good luck

Hey Fman everything is looking great! As for gifting out some of a harvest to friends or family, I'd say thats a gift better to be received haha.

im thinking about taking some clones myself after i find out if this plant is female or not. i can only hope that they look as good as these when i do.

Bozo I know those guys are making money, but they are easyer to talk with than the guys at green arrow or home de pot . All the other clones Ive cut were all only about 3" to 4" tall, I think you can see one in the bottle in the background of pic number 4. Its 1 week in the bottle, and it took about 10 days to root. The reason I cut these larger Is that's what AL B does. Im sure you have seen his thread (from another site) on harvesting every 2 weeks. On that other site he has 5 or 6 pages of pics and instructions on how he grows and clones , the whole mess. His op is perfect,(I think) and Im trying to copy it , but on a smaller scale.
