Default Baby Hog

Once upon a time...........

The lizards had 2 clones of Hog. Mr. Lizard thought he was smart and put the Hogs into a hydroponic system. The Hogs did not do well.

One day when the Mr was moving the plants, he accidentally broke off a little branch. He immediately stuck it in the medium. As the Hogs got worse, the evil and cruel Mr. Lizard had mercy and transplanted them all to soil.

The 2 clones he started with, died. The little branch managed to survive.....the next 3 months. Little Hog was sad, she got left behind at harvest. She is still 3 inches tall!!

Mrs. Lizard came along and said"Oh poor little Hog!!!" and put her in her own pot with yummy soil, perlite, blood meal, bat guano, and bone meal (small quantities, of course). Little Hog hopes to grow up and have big buds someday!!

To be continued.........

Did you try growing roots before putting in the soil?

Ahh

Maybe you might want to expirement some time on cloning with water.

Just clip them and put the stem down in water inside a light proof container.

Change the water once a day.

You might mist once a day if under to much light.

I like to use 15w gro fluros for clones.

Clones leaves need very little light in the begining.
The roots need not get any light at all.

Cloning with water works even faster with an air stone and air pump.

Without the oxygenated water I am used to seeing roots in 7-10 days.

I saw roots in 4 days this time with the air pump and air stones.

I just cliped and put in rockwool and then put them in pots with stones.

The rw is just above the water now.
Maybe a half inch.

The bubbles come up to about half the height of the rw..

I have yet to try cloning without rooting first before putting them in the soil.

I suppose it could work. Maybe just a lil harder to care for at first.

This is day 6. I can see roots that are starting to come out through the rocks in the bottom of my pots.

The yellowing on the second one is because I like to starve the mom some before cloning.

In about 3 or 4 more days I will start upping the nutes.

Right now they are really low.
Like .75 ml N and .75 ml P per every 3 gallons of water. No K yet, they do not need it yet.

Sorry I just hate to hear bad hydro stories.

I would stick to soil though in this particular case.
It is easier to maintain in the fact that the medium does not fluctuate as often or as quickly as hydro.

I just started with the dwc and I am actually suprised at the progress so far.
I did however read alot about it before I started.

I then talked about it for another 4 months and continued to read.

I finally just had to get my green thumb wet.
