Rep Power: 2340 | | Advanced growing techniques
Greetings my friends. I am going to document a grow here using techniques found on this web site. I will include pricing too, to give an idea of what is required, assuming you are starting with little to nothing.
The only thing I own that I am using is one 400 watt light, although I am buying a second one for this grow. I'll be connecting the two lights together, using cool tubes and a 424 cfm fan. I am not using any odor control, as this is not a problem here. This is going to be a vertical grow.
I'll be growing Himalayan Gold, The Church, Cheese, Ice, Big Bang, and Mazari. Mazari is a mazar rip off from seedsman seeds, at half the price, all seeds are femenized.
So far I have invested $250.00 in seeds, and $551.00 into supplies, for a total of $801.00
I need to clean my new grow space still, and go get some building materials to build my new design next week. Of which, I'll document the building of my new design, which will hold 48 plants, using only two 400 watt lights. My goal is to get 1.5 oz's per plant.
I'll post pictures when I can.
Peace

Hey Vid,
Are you planning on growing all those strains at once? Are they all compatible? Height, nute requirements, flower time, etc.?
Gonna be a heck of a journal. We'll be watching this one for sure.

Hey Vid - Sounds like a grow I will want to follow. :-) What kind of fan are you using to vent those HID's? I am trying to find the perfect exhaust for mine..

Hey GreenGoblin, I am using a 6" Inline Fan using 110 watts and pushing 424 cfm of air. I really wanted a larger fan, but I am not big on using reducers. So I settled on this one. It should do fine.

Today, I placed my order for some cool tubes and some other needed stuff.
This grow is going to be different form the rest, is the respect that it is going to make maximum usage of the lighting.
Normally, one 400 watt light is good for about 6 plants at most. I'll be usiing two 400 watt lights, and growing 48 plants, that's 24 plants per light. Not too shabby.
The grow is going to be vertical, and the grow pots are going to be screwed to PVC piping, 3 plants per row, and two rows high, per light. The lights will be suspended down the middle.
With any luck at all, I'll be starting to build the unit, with pictures by Friday of this week.
Peace

Hey People....
This is just a teaser, to keep you interested. I've received most of my needed deliveries for the new grow room, as pictured below.
After taking thios picture we've emptied the boxes and inspected the contents.
The next step is to build my newly designed grow system. The only change from the original design, is I'll be adding odor control, better safe than sorry.
After I make a run to home depot for supplies, I'll be posting the needed pics of the room, as we build it.
I believe this will be interesting as I'll be growing 48 plants using only 800 watts of light.
Peace

Did you do that on purpose? Check the time of your last post.

Gotta ask again. Are you sure all those strains aren't going to give you some trouble? Height, rates of growth, maturing time, etc., etc.
I would hate to see you have a big PITA with all the different requirements.
Just a thought. (I have one, occasionally)

Hey Pappy, I've seen this done before, but personally I've always been against doing many strains at once. Having said that....now I gotta try it. I'l ltrain em or do whatever is necessary.
Moving on, here are some teaser pictures of what is to come for you all.

So, the grow room I've been working on has been progressing. Stealth was a major concern this time around so in addition to a HUGE charcoal filter, I also made one of the odor neutralizing machines posted on this site, the damn thing works GREAT!
I have two 400 watt lights hooked together, both using cooltubes.
Here are some preliminary pictures after we just did a dry run, damn near the hottest day of the year, and the temps only got up to 80 degrees.
I put wood over the window to completely eliminate it, as stealth is a concern, and I placed the charcoal filter in the bathroom, next to the grow room, cut a hole in the drywall, and hooked her up.

Funds are sooo tight right now, I blew well over 1k on that room so far.
But to answer you, my goal is simply to paint the 2x4's flat white.
You do realize that this is going to be a sideways grow?
(the grow pots will be screwed to the 2x4's at an angle towards the lights)
12 plants per wall, for a total of 48.
Peace

I've got the near perfect set up for one of these vertical-style grows, but it would be two of the 600W, still, plenty of space for it.
Gonna be watchin this one close Video!
