This could be the future of lighting, screw LED's. These get 140 lumens per watt!

these might really have some potential. if they're made to replace the bulbs in street lamps and most of us use the same bulbs currently in street lamps.....

not to mention they claim they have the same spectrum as the sun while using less energy and less heat.

almost sounds too good to be true for a grow light.

what I wanna know is, how long do they last? it said no electrical current hits the bulb, only heat, but heat breaks things down fast.

they mention something about a big portion of the energy being turned into light instead of heat

hey, with 140 lum/W it is about as efficient as an 400W HPS and these little suckers draw 250W still too - they will produce some good amount of heat as well!

i would think they're talking about color temp as in kelvin. notice how the guy has his hand on the lamp? at 6000 F i dont think youd be able to even stand near it.

(ok, maybe im just stoned)

Hey Guys&Gals,That 6000 degree is Kelivin.I had to watch the vedio clip a couple times, but he said 6000 degree kelvin.Without air cool to my 400 watter I wouldnt be able to put my hand on the shade and he has his on the light. All heat is turned to energy thus is light. There was no air cooling on that light and the guy had his hand on it.I can see it now they install them in street lights and the criminals will be steeling them faster then they can installed them.I hope they do work as good as they say.If they do they most likely will cost two arms and a leg.But we will see. PEACE

sure, the color temp of the light is 6000K - that in your place and your place will be gone in spit seconds!

so the color temp thing is put away now, the next thing is the efficiency of this plasma bulb was 140lum/W (which is about what a 400W HPS yields from you hydro dollars) @ 250W power consumption - so it will produce as much heat as a 400W HPS cooking on 250W, SO still a lot!!
