Default Need advice badly, everyone.

Right, Im about to flower in my closet with a 250w hps but there are sockets in the closet. Does the relay NEED to be plugged into a double socket as normal or can I run a extention lead, coming from 1 of the plug sockets and then run the relay from that 2 plug extention lead? I hope this makes sense. If not I can post some pics to make more clear. Thanks everyone. Im desperate to get on with flowering......

I would not use an extension cord if you can avoid it. First off I have my timer plugged into the socket/plug, which is a GFI plug, (ground fault interuptor) then I have a surge protected power bar off that to plug what needs to be turned off and on via the timer. With a power bar you have more options and more saftety than a regular extension cord. Please, safety first. and make sure all cords are off the floor and not near water, of course.

Hope that helps.

Peace

I agree completely with Jangel and the setup she explained exactly what I am doing. It's always better to play it safe regarding electrical. I've seen a couple grow setups that are downright scary and with very little effort they don't have to be. Regarding the extension cord, if you can avoid it you should. If you have to use on make sure it is a heavy duty one.
