Are you suggesting I use 6" ducting from the light reflector and just tape it to the fan?

yes, bigger ducting will help flow more air, id definately go with the 6in ducting.

OK guys Ill grab some 6" on the way home.

now on that note, what formula if there is one, should I use to determine how big my incoming air hole should be. Incoming air is not fan powered.

1.5 times that of your exhaust as a minumum.
