Default Digital Ballasts

Who here uses them?

How much are you saving per month using it?

How much did it cost you?

Where did you purchase it?

If you've used it a while...how long was the bulb life?

im ordering a lumatek 400watter from bghydro, its for $159.99, the same price i was about to pay for different hps/mh magnetic ballast.

the main reasons are that it says
*20-30 percent more lumens
*electricity cost
*they dont get hot
*longevity
and something about MHz (whatever that means), Magnetic only puts out 6,000MHz while Digital puts out 20,000MHz, they say plants thrive with this.

Cool Business, Doja....Im trying to compile some facts on the digitals. More straight from the horses mouth testimony is what Im going for. People using/planning on using why and what their results are.

Since you're ordering one...you may get a bit out of this as well.

Thanks for adding on.

Hey everybody, I got the GALAXY electronic bsllast,400watt,its the green one.Got it from 1000 blubs.com. I paid $146.00&$13.50 shipping.Six months later they had a sale and it was a xmas gift $124.31 shipping $13.50 total $137.81.I have it them now for one year.I can hold the ballast in my hands after it been running for 14 hours and its just warm.it has a 3 year warranty. You can run this one on 120 or240 volt just by changing the power cord.unplug one and plug in the other.Saves energy by 5-12% less than Magnetic ballast.Efficent by 99.9% power factor& soft start which helps increase lamp life. Its quiet no nose, weight 11lbs.One thing is it states DO NOT RUN ON A GENERATORS.it will voide the warranity. The electric bill only went up $15. or $18. bucks with the light. The HPS bulb seem tobe ok.I dont have A light meter to check it whit.I think the ballast is made by sunlight, but it saided made in china,so far anything is working good.the sunlight lamps plugs in to ballast. For the price and to run both MH&HPS I think it's great. But time will tell.Well that's my take on it.PEACE

I'm new to the eballast game but so far I'm VERY happy with the performance of the Lumateks (600's) for all of the same reasons tokecrazy mentions with his Galaxy unit. (those are sold by Sunlight/they contract to have em made in China and resell em here under the Sunlight umbrella)

Haven't got an electric bill since I plugged em in. I also added other stuff in the mix so ...to be honest...it will be hard to tell if I am seeing any savings running these.
As I've said previously though...electricity charges aren't really a concern here...though I DO wish my monthly bill was lower!

In the end..the cost of electricity is FAR less than the cost of pot..so hey..it's a no-brainer here what to do! (PLUG IN!) And..because I'm legal..I can run as many watts as I please and nobody can say a word.

Got my ballasts through a wholesaler as I still have a wholesaler's license and have connections in the "industry". I am planning on snagging a few more of these and having a 6 light system.

The wholesale cost on a 600 Lumatek is $142.. retail is anywhere from $250-400 depending upon who you're dealing with. Some of the prices you guys are getting are very good, IMO.

Those connections are a great thing to have, bt....Ive been seeing pretty decent prices on the d/ballasts.

Maybe the price is coming dow on them overall....I know all us stoners arent going to spend the time to shop around. Then again I may not be giving us enough credit.

Will I need to know how to do the wiring of the ballast to hook the lamp up to it? I didnt think about that part.

ive talked online with the customer service rep for bghydro, and they sell wired cords and sockets that are ready to plug-n-play
no wiring needed
