i was hoping that that someone might know what is required to convert a 400/w mihd to a hps or if its at all possible if so so how or maybe a link leading me in the right direction i,m asking this because i have seen a magnetic 400watt metal halide that switches to hps

Hello,
You cant convert the bulb from MH to HPS but you can buy a ballast that can switch its power supply back and forth to be able to power either a MH lamp or a HPS lamp.

Or, you can get a MH conversion bulb to use in a HPS ballast.

ive got a digital Lumatek ballast that auto switches between MH and HPS, heres a link:

a conversion bulb is prob your best bet.

I use a MH conversion bulb..they cost alittle more but worth it to me.

i was hopeing i could add a igniter or a capp and and make a mh into an hps. guess i need to go to an electrical supply shop and ask some questions. im to cheep to buy a conversion bulb!
