Default Coated Halide

Hi Guy's. Can anyone tell me if a Phosphor coated Halide Bulb is okay for vegging. I bought a Sylvania white/Phospher coated 400 watt bulb today for a nice price. Is this bulb okay for vegging and clones or is it a dud? Hope not but it was about 28$ so I figured i'd pick it up as mine has a few hours on it. Is there any advantages to the inside coating?
The bulb in it now is a clear 400 watt Halide.
Dont know if it helps you any but here are a few pics of the Bulb.
Thanks for the help guy's!
Peace,
Med

That bulb would be ideal for vegging Med, The label says it is a MH, and the wattage is right. Just watch the heat, yer good to go, my friend.

Whew thank you Nim. I really like hearing that.LOL sure it was only 28 bucks but my current clear MH has quite the hours on it so maybe this one will up the Lumens alittle better. Will the coated bulb be alittle cooler than the clear bulb? Will it be more of a blue spectrum or do you think i'll see any difference?
Thanks again for the great news my friend.
Peace Always,
Med

Metal Halide bulbs are always of the right spectrum, the heat will definately be determined when you fire it up. As far as seeing any difference, it'll probably be brighter than your old bulb, but naw, not much difference other than that. You found a sweet deal for the price. Put'er on in and relish in the glow

Default Well, my reviews for the Sylvania Coated Bulb.

Okay guy's after only 3 days under this new bulb I am less than satisfied with the purchase. The initial Lumen output was fantastic! now it has diminished to only 15,000 Nearly half of the initial 33000. Pitiful to say the least for only being used three days now. Oh well ya get what ya pay for so I'm returning to the Hortilux SMH Bulb.
Peace,
Med

Any coatings only subtract from the total output.
