Heya guy's! I have a closet in my bedroom I would like to setup. I already have a basement and two full bedrooms going full steam with three different strains for plenty of medicine for most ailments. I would like to setup my bedroom closet as a special closet can anyone tell me how to setup this small space with two 400Watt Hps(vented of course). Thanks for any help. I'm just not used to growing in such a confined space. How would you vent it as well? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks and keep up the healing advice.
Peace

I was running a 400w hps in 1/3 of my closet (same size as yours). If youre planning to flower in the whole thing, I recommend sticking with 2 400s.
I was lucky enough to have attic access so I cut a piece of wood to size and jigsawed a 4" hole. yeah i was only venting with 4" back then. carbon filtered to the attic.
Now I exhaust straight into the heating/ac vent in the room. It helps keep the rest of the house warm, at least so far in the winter.

hey i would veg with one of those 400w and in the last month or month and a half add the second one in to flower with plenty of light and air ventilation is going to have to be a big part of the whole thing with that much heat in that small of a space.

Okay guy's how would you vent that closet so that I can run with both 400Watt lamps cranking the entire Flower Cycle? I am installing a 560CFM Dayton axial exhaust fan in the ceiling upper right corner(vented into the attic after it goes thru a small carbon can. The fan is a 10" diameter fan but very quiet and uses about.35Amps so it's efficient anyway. The intake air is coming into the room via a 12"square Register type grille drawing fresh air from the adjoining Bedroom. I'm sure i'll have to inline ventilate my lamp reflectors which works well with the 6" flanges built on the reflectors which are sunleaves Auroras. Yeah i'm gonna be playing for awhile to keep that spaces heat in check. Any ideas????????? Would you reccommend another ventilation technique??? I am only going to be growing 6 at a time in there and let's remember also that the room is 6'long by 2' wide by 7.5' high. I will be putting 4 week cuttings in there when ready. What other problems do you see me encountering besides the heat issues????????? I am just using this as kinda a "personal" stash op.LOL
Lemme know what ya think guy's and by all means pass dat dam thing already!!
Peace & Stay NORML

Sorry guy's I forgot to add that my Dayton fan is rated at 1650RPMs, 115volt. I take it that in this small closet space with those two lamps burning the Exhaust will be running during the entire light cycles non-stop. I'm sure its gonna take some serious playing around with. Probably be simple to manage with one 400 watter ya think? Not as bright or intense though and that kinda hurts yields and schedules. Lemme know what ya think.
Thanks and Peace

Hey Merton what kind of filter do you use on your furnace or at the duct. I would think your house would reek after that exhausted air from the closet flows through the ductwork. Just wondering. I use big Can-Lite Carbon cans in my rooms and even though the rooms themselves are wicked with knockdown smells once you exit the room the house smells very clean. One thing I started doing was wearing rubber gloves in the rooms when handling plants(change gloves and wash hands before entering another room of course). I end up with a shitload of Hash and ohhhhhhhhhhh is it nice. Yippie!! Really they are for biosecurity between the rooms just in case. haven't had a problem in several years and I dont wanna start now. Thanks and Peace

Heya guy's I hope everyone is doin well. I however unfortunately am not. Iv'e been really sick again and my Doc is trying to stuff all the narco pills in me and I just dont do that. He knows what my pain relief is and even agrees it is a far more safer alternative. Anyway i'm survivin and will for as dam long as I can but anywho.........
Well my Camera has been on the way for four day's now but my wife has been good enough to loan me her camera to take some shots of the small closet I was telling you about. She said no go with her camera on my rooms and the plants in them. They exploded beyond my belief at the very end. Dunno but im following those records.LOL. Anyway I will take pics of them just as soon as my stinkin camera gets here. I want you guy's to see these possibly before I cut.
Anyway here is the Closet situation and what I am working with. Yes before you even ask yourself that lamp shade has two 400 watt HPS bulbs in it. But how can this be as this is a dual ballast running both HPS and MH at the same time.???????400Watt. Truth is that I was using this reflector with another HPS ballast with the cordset running in that reflector. I had used this as supplemental lighting in a darker area in one of my main flowering rooms until I got all of my Airshades plus I run several Parabolic reflectors. All of my other ballasts are 1000watters and lot's of em. Gonna be takin pics of cleaning and disinfecting to stuff the next group in immediately. I am going to ditch the extra HPS and this hood alltogether and put a SMH and the Hortilux 430Watt in seperate Sunleaves Aurora Reflectors. I can clone/veg/ & store a couple mother's below and flower 6 or 8 in the upper chamber dont ya think with just one 400Hps? i'm gonna use a flood table I think as it seems the most efficient for this thing but maybe i'm wrong so lemme know what ya think(perhaps reservoir in lower chamber?????? Shit I dont know I might try Soil for a change. Will 400 Halide in the bottom and 400 watts HPS in the top be enough for 6-8 ladies? The door to this will be a one piece door inset into the frame and I am going to fit the original bifold wooden closet doors to that with screws as they will fit onto the door board. The door will be hinged to open nicely but hidden You'll be seeing it as I'm finishing it but i'd love any ideas you guy's may have to help me out. Take care and Peace.
PS can anyone tell me how to upload my pictures? The max size is just over 1MB but mine are 2.54MB???? Help??????????????? |

Thanks and Peace | Its a DIY carbon filter based on something I found online.
I used 6" galv. steel duct pieces to mold the carbon to.
the filter is a Honeywell Universal Carbon Filter
for $12 a pop, its a no brainer. Ive got 2 spares just in case. This ones on its 2nd cycle. the strawberry cough hasnt started to smell yet so the filter isnt really doing much currently as far as aroma goes.

Nice filter idea ya got there merton! Gotta be cheaper than my CanLite Carbon cans and that I definately like. I spend 300$ a piece on those things twice a year and I have three large flower rooms. I like your space setup as well man nice job. Keep it up and hit me back anytime with any more of those kind of good ideas. This Closet is gonna be a big change from the large rooms but I think together we can all make it work through knowledge. Thanks again!
Peace
