Default Anyone using this style of Hortilux 1000?

Seems interesting that they combine a 600W MH with a 400HPS in the same lamp. Anyone using one of these critters?

I have seen these they look real cool. What kind of ballast does it use though.

As Scooby would say..."Ruh Roh!"

I've got one of the Solarmax in my 1k now...been doing fine but only a few days old. I bought from a hydro store that I know would not sell a product to anyone if they had a high failure rate on it...my only thinking is I have a different version, or it hasen't taken a dump yet. Sounds like a good idea for me to pick up another lamp asap, just in case.

Think I'll go with the 1k Hortilux Blue instead...

Those lamps will not fire in a digital ballast from my understanding.

Looks like a nightmare waiting to happen, IMO. There's 2x the crap inside that lamp to fug up over a standard lamp.

Hortilux is supposedly making a 600 hps as we speak. Not sure when it'll hit the market...etc. Until then, the 600 conversion lamps are AOK with me and I think they work very well.

good luck with whatever ya use.... btdt
