Default 600W HPS Pricing Question

After some research, I think a 600W HPS with eBallast is the way to start. I have been pricing locally, right away the prices are way to high in my area. So I set off to find one online. What does everyone think of this combo for price and quality?

Yield Master II - 6 Inch Air Cooled Reflector
Galaxy 600 Watt Electronic Ballast - 120/240 Volt
Hortilux - 600 Watt Super High Pressure Sodium Bulb - LU600S/HTL/EN

The total price including shipping is $359.47

Also, has anyone had any good/bad experience with hydroponics.net? Also, should I worry about ordering from an online vendor? I am legal MMJ, but still try to be careful.

TIA

Medicinal

medicinal,

You can use that HPS from start to finish for your grow, or you can use a MH Conversion lamp for the vegging.

I use the GrowBright 600W MH conversion lamp, and it puts out a nice spectrum (6500k) at 72,000 lumens, better than any other 600W conversion lamp.

I only run the 600W units now (3 of 'em) and have been very pleased with the performance.

Default Research confirms your point

My research, and at this point it is just research, says "the 600 watt bulb has the highest lumen per watt conversion (150 LPW) and can be placed closer to the canopy of the garden..." Gardening Indoors, by George Van Patton

This is a great book. I hope to as successful as most of you.
