I've been researching my light options, and I want to go with HID lighting so I can grow denser buds. I'm stuck between a 250 and a 400w. Would a 400w work in a cab like this one

GS3000 Horizontal Outdoor Shed > Suncast® Corporation

I plan on growing in DWC tubs that will probably have a height of about 12in. I was thinking about using this light setup for it.

Discount Grow Lights - - 400W HPS/MH Digital Ballast, Bulb and Glass Tube Reflector Combo

I've been stuck on this issue for awhile and need help, please.

blueberrybc is on a distinguished road
Default 400w

hey chuckd420 took a look at the container you want to use. If you crave dense buds the 400w's the better choice I've a 400w in a closet of equal size.

hey quick question what is the area coverage of a 400w setup example could it work in a 4x4x8 cab with just one and plenty of venting? (used the dimensions cause thats what plywood comes in hehe) Also could some one put me on the right path to odor controll + what sized fan i need and how much noise will it make??

Thx

To much light for such a small space, the 250 will be a challenge to cool too but not like the 400 would and the needed hight of 12" or more away from the plants with the 400.

I've recently starting using a 400w HPS and the plants are lovin it...
Couldn't decide between a 250 or 400 for a while coz of heat & my cab is just under 4ft high but after weighing up the pros and cons I just had to get the 400w, temps are running a bit to high for my liking but getting a cooltube very soon then we'll be flying...
