Rep Power: 0 | | Will 3' 21watt 2 bulb T5s work????
I saw at Home Depot a 3' fixture that has two 21w T5s bulbs. Im woundering if I have two of these(4 bulbs) if that will be sufficient for a small grow or is that just not enough wattage???

I believe that the 2700k spectrum is more what you are looking for for a vegetative cycle, 6500k is a daylight spectrum and is better suited for the flowering stage. If I could I would recommend using compact flouros as opposed to t5 tubes just because of the output and the ability to pack more of them into the grow. I used them to veg and flower my first grow and made a simple fixture out of a bathroom vanity light fixture from home depot that was intended to hold four regular bulbs, but with splitters for each lamp on the fixture I was able to use eight bulbs and greatly increased the output. I used a couple t12 fixtures for side lighting along with a couple more cfl's. You will notice that the buds under flouro's will be lighter and airier, but with enough lights you should be able to do well for yourself.

you could use any wattage but the higher the better as long as its in the right color spectrum for what your doing. more wattage = more light = more yield. also equals more heat so you may want to look into a way to deal with that.

Im using 600 watts (6 100W, 3 2700k, 3 6500k) for my 2 girls. Its a homebuilt fixture. I made out of 18 gauge sheet metal, individual sockets and I wired it all myself

operator1 Ithink you got the color soectrums backwards??is the 2700kelvin bulbs in the red to orange color?if so these are best for flowering cycles??6500kelvin bulbs are more in the blue to white color?if so these are best for veg??also during flowering it is a good idea to use a mixture of the colors??I use a mix of them both through my whole grow.In veg I like to use a 6500 kelvin mh bulb with a couple of 2700 kelvin cfls.In flower I like to use a 2000 kelvin hps bulb and then use 6500kelvin cfls for a mix of both spectrums. You can use either spectrum to grow with, the 6500 k bulbs will make plants short and compact, the 2700 k bulbs will let the plant strech a lttle in between the nodes.some people put a mh in their flower room the last couple weeks of flower they say it increases resin and makes the buds a little tighter??
Operator1 I may be wrong on this,what do I know ???

Apparently that makes your bud more potent.

I don't think I got the spectrum backwards, I read it word for word out of the medical grow bible before I posted that, I use a 150 watt HPS with supplemental cfl lighting in flowering. I'll check it again, alright, one section says 6500k to root clones, and the other section says that both 2700k and 4100k are best used together to root clones, then it says that any "daylight" temp will be good to use, so now I'm confused... I know I used 2700k for veg on my first grow, then added a ton of 6500k cfl's for the flowering... lol, I don't know.

Vegging (clones/seedlings until they go to flower) you want 6500k
For flowering you want the red spectrum, or the lower temp 2700k lamps.

ok... I must be getting dyslexic in my old age. I just know what I used in my first grow and it seemed to work out, probably would have been better if I had switched it around though...
