a white hairy mold is growing in my growing medium. (ironic...)It only seems to my in the shadowy areas (pits and craters in the soil)Would it be safe to assume that if I provide more light then the mold will go away?Should I just through the soil out immediately?
Is it in soil without plants in it? I have had this happen if I mix up large batches of soil and it is damp, with a lid on. I scooped out the worst of it, and mixed the rest up and left the lid off for a few days.
If it is in your plants, I would get a fan in there and move the air around more. Lower the humidity etc. and check out some SM-90 to prevent it happening again. Any soil mix will make mould if there is no air movement and it is damp. Just already part of the biology of it all.
No, there's no plants in it. Its just some seedling cups I prepared a little early. So just scoop it out and let it dry out. Gotcha.Jangel, if your still around, can you check my post in the DiY forum regarding a charcoal filter?
