Question Tricky labeling and I'm cornfused

Would something like this work? 12 of these lights?

And I read somewhere . . . .
Those are good to veg. You need 4 for the first plant and 2 for each additional plant.
I have read that 3000-5000 lumens per plant is good.
IS THAT TRUE?

Thanks and take care,

Those are for vegging plants. Yes, they are good ones. 6500k for veg and 3500k or lower for flower....you are good to go!

Not sure about the number you will need. One thing I do know is you need 1/4 the opposite spectrum to be balanced for the plant. So say you have 3 of those, include one with the lower, flowering spectrum for good health of the plant.

Keep us posted on your progress.

Peace

Thanks for the info I also find it confusing. I ended up with 2 26w/100w CFL's 2700k, & 1750 lumen's each. I'm growing on 18/6 and all the plants doing ok. But really want to get some bulbs as shown above.

You do have to search for the right number, and they will quite often be more expensive than the flowering range will be. If they say "cool daylight" and have a blue cast to the light, then they are fine. If they say "soft daylight" they will most likley be in the flowering range and will have more of a reddish cast to the light.

Thanks, yes the new bulb's have a quite noticeable blue brightness to them. The new package just said daylight, the bulb's I had in there are soft white, and are not as bright, and are of a decidedly red light. And the cost about 50 cent more for the Daylight, and the Soft White came 3 in a pack, the Day Light pack had 2 in it. Sense I'm using just 2 bulb's it worked out good. And the plants are showing more growth.

I want to bring this back up for a second. I was at lowes today and found out they stock a bulb that I just had to buy, it is a 65W 2700K CFL that is huge, I'm talking 11+ inches tall. Says they're also made in 3500K and 6500K but they didnt stock either. It has a regular "medium" base as well!

Those are for flower, so keep them until your plant is ready for them, or balance them with 3 of the other range.....

Yes I'm using it in addition to my 125W 6400K bulb (mogul base). I also have 4 42W bulbs (2 of each spectrum) under the same hood, they're standard size, and then the 65W 2700K one. I just wanted to share where I was able to find it, cause at only $17 I think it was a good deal.

I have a bulb similar to the large one in the centre of the picture.....its a 300w dual spectrum and i can grow 3 plants start to finish just with that one bulb so i think you will be fine ....

Good Luck
