Default Top44 12/12 supercropped

Here is a grow i've been doing beside my Citral. Its a Top44 from Nirvana-shop. started 12/12 from seed about august 7/9. She was in a 4" pot, got rootbound as you can see in some of the pictures. I transplanted her and she has begun to fill out.
Haven't been really keeping notes too much. I know she didn't like MG, but took on the schultz african violets, and molasses. PH is in the upper 6.0.
I supercropped her when i was sure she was taking over the area. I did two techniques for suppercropping. The first was pinch, pinch, then bend over--stem snapped and broke opened but healed. And the second way was how Soma does it. Twist then bend--much better appearance.
For the past two weeks i've cut back the lighting to "promote" the change of season...The weather in Hawaii is starting to change also--shorter day, cooler temps, but currently lots and lots of vog from Kilauea. The first week i cut back 30min for one week, and this morning i cut back another 30min which leaves the lighting at 11/13. I will continue for two more weeks until lighting reaches 10/14.

Just to verify what you are doing: you are trying to get your girl to flower under 10 hrs light and 14 dark or is it the other way around? And can I ask why you are doing this or is it just an experiment? ....just curious kaili. Is this to save electricity or for some other reason?

...kind of looks like she needs some nitrogen as well, sweetie.

Its more of an experiment. I wanted to see what 12/12 grow looks like, how supercropping works, and utilize the space since i only had one girl in their.
The book written by DJ Short was talking about equatorial strains needing less light and more darkness to flower better. I figured since this is an easy strain i should just try to wing it and get accustomed to other problems that come up like her lack of N. I noticed when transplanting that she did not have a solid root mass probably because of no Veg period.
I knew she needed N so thats when i decided to transplant her. The soil i mixed up contained more N than other Nutes. The new growth that came after is dark green and the old yellow leaves doesn't seem to be wearing for the worst so i'm not to worried.

Quoted from buydutchseeds.com : "Use longer dark periods to speed maturity toward the end of the flowering cycle if speed is of the essence. (8-10 days) This will however, reduce total yield." It works for me on my long flowering bagseed...It really didn't start flowering till it was at 10 hrs of light.

Peace.

I'm not to worried about yield at this point. I'm just throwing some things i've read peopl want to try, but don't want to waste seeds. So i figured, in due time i'll make my own seeds so why not experiment. Maybe if the cow flies over the moon again i'll have a unique strain which can be vegged under 12/12 and flowered under 10/14...Or not. lol.
I did notice my Citral fattening up more when the light would get cut back...If anyone is interested, i cut my light cycles 15min off from lights on and 15 min from lights off.
