I Would Think That It Would, I Have Never Use Or Seen A Shatter Shield???,,Is It Like A Lens?, Even A Lens Would Cut Down On The Out-Put..
I Have Been Using T-5's, T-8's, T-12's, & CFL's For Some Time Now, & Never Had One Just Shatter, I Have Dropped & Hit Them & Broken Them, But It's No Big Deal.

I too have never had a problem with flourescents. They do not get as hot as a HID light so not really likely to happen. You can even grow your plants pretty close to them.

Rep Power: 201 | | I have scatter shields, that came with my commercial M.H. fixtures. They are made out of a polycarbonite plastic and the sticker on them says " use in all wet areas " I never have and I've never blown a bulb with liquids either. | | The Following User Says Thank You to Zigzagman For This Useful Post: | |

I have a T5 with a shield on it. The T5 gets a lot hotter than T12's or sprial CFLs

Do you ever have a problem with the moisture from the air and plant messing with the bulb or fixture?
