Supplemental CFL Side Lighting

Hello to all,
Alright so I am using a 400w mh/hps convertible HID light and I have decided I want some additional side light for my babies. What wattage should I be looking at for CFLs? Furthermore, this is definitely a newbie question, but in addition to the actual light bulb, do I need to purchase anything else when using CFLs (ie: reflector + ballast)? Any direct product references (brand and where to find) would be greatly appreciated! Thank you for all of the help guys!

CFL's work in normal sockets so no fancy ballast needed.
I use the 42w's they are a red spec. Reflector's are always a good idea.

42 watts can come in blue or red spec... I would personally get some in red and some in blue... some blue light can increase production in flowering...
