| Ok guys, sorry if this is a re-post, I have been told different theories on this subject. So I am asking the pros of green passion, you guys haven't let me down yet. I am on my second rubbermaid grow, but I'm going to try the soilless method this time. I need to use CFL's for stealth and heat issues. What Kelvin rating is best for vegging, which for flower. I have a slue of 5300K CFL's in hand. Are these a good bulb for vegging? My GrowBox is 3 totes tall. THANKS

| hey Ky! Nice to meet you! Check out Scott06's thread here http://www.greenpassion.org/f22/my-m...-soiless-5408/ He discusses a lot of that with many good growers working with cfl's. We also have a large section on cfl's. I have read from many growers here that it is better to use a combination of the two, veg and bloom in veg and flower. I think it was scott06 that was discussing it, but I might be wrong. So for veg you would use 75% 6500K and the balance 2700K and then switch it for flower. I cannot find the thread, I just looked but it was recently so you might just find the discussion yourself. I am just too forgetful to remember which it was! LOL! Must be brain damaged or MUST BE A STONER!!! Think I will go and make my memory worse right now........ Have fun and make sure you read the FAQ's. LOTS of info on cfl's in there as well as the cfl section.

| KY, The 5300k's will do fine for vegging. Like Jangel said, if you have, for example, 6 lights total, you might make it 4 of the 5300 and 2 of the 2200 or 2700. The "red" spectrum from the 2200 range helps in flower, and the plants seem to like the mix. Once you go to flower at 12/12, then change it to 4 of the 2200's and the other 2 5300's (you get the gist of it..no matter how many lamps ya got..LOL) ISO

| Okay guys, I set up the bulbs as instructed, but my younguns(sorry for the slang, lol) are favoring the 5300k lights. I am having to spin the pots around 180 deg. almost every day to keep them straight up and down. Would you advise installing all 5300k bulbs?(there will be six total) Also would adding a hood over the lights be beneficial enough to invest in. Keep in mind it is a rubbermaid stealth box, I'm afraid the hood woul trap too much heat and cause issues. Thanks and once again, you guys rock!!!
