hi there. to start out you dont have to have the lights on until the seeds pop from the ground, and even then maybe 2 bulbs until they get their first set of leaves. around the 2nd set you can pop in the rest to start the real vegging power. if you have all one one spectrum (6500) thats fine, if you have 2 or 3 flowering bulbs you can switch some of those in, plants like a light mixture of wavelengths.
the reason people start plants in smaller pots is usually to save space, especially if you dont have feminized seeds and dont know if youll have to toss out half the plants. Also some people change soil mixes from vegging to flower stages (like in organic growing), so upgrading to larger pots allows a new soil mix to be made for the plants. however, since you have feminized seeds (and im assuming you are keeping the same soil mix and just adding liquid nutrients), personally i would just plant them in the biggest pots you can to fit all those plants in. 3-5 gallon would make them very happy. lots of space for the roots :-). good luck my friend keep us updated!
