Talking My First Grow Question

Hi there I have just started my first grow and after great advice from all you guys I purchased a grow tent (HydroL4B) 1.72 Cubic metres
and a 400 watt Dual Spectrum CFL, 175m3/hr Fan. But I have a couple of questions.
I have planted only 3 Feminized seedsto start with (Afgan Cush). 2 are growing realy well and one is realy far behind. Also they are very tall and fragile (floppy) at the moment and if I spray too much water onto their leafs they colapse over. Is this normal or am I doing something wrong???

Have a look at my baby's at 1 week old.....

I will post pics week by week

Thanks

First off, don't worry too much about the stretch. I get mine to do that on purpose. If they get too floppy use toothpicks or screwers to hold them up. Don't spray them if they are flopping and never spray when they will be under the lights. It will act like a prism and burn them. They seem like they are in pretty big pots for little babies. No worries though, they look healthy. Next time you plant them up, you can bury them up to those first round water leaves and they will grow roots below that point. You want deep roots, not shallow so I do this and it works well for me.

What are your temperatures in the tent like? If they are cold they grow slower. I think also you can get them closer to the light. Find that sweet spot where the light is just warm, but not burning and raise the babies to that hieght. Do it gradually over a couple of days and they will be fine.

They look good sweetie, and they will be fine. Keep posting! And also, don't feed them anything for a while. It will burn them.

Peace

Thanks will do that next time The temp is 75-82 when the light is on and 66-71 when lights are off and I had them on 24/7 for 1 week. They are now on 18/6 as I read somewhere that plants only Photosynth for 18 hours max a day. I am also using the fan on a seperate timer going at 3 hours then 15 mins break, then during off period on every 15mins then on 15mins.

I have been using a Nitrogen based fert (realy weak) so I will stop using that. When can I start using it again??

When they are actively growing and all the first round leaves have dried up. BUT before you feed them, tell me what, if anything is in your soil. Most babies should not be fed until they have several nodes and many leaves. They will tell you when they need something to eat.

Temps are just fine.

Nice tent .. looks like your going in the right direction... if your seedling keep floping... you can use twist-ties (for trash bags)... put it around the plant twist the tie bend it and put the end in the ground.. if you dont have any twist ties any thin wire will work ( remember its just temp.)i use a thin gauge bail wire for making wreaths ... good luck.. keep up the pics

Keeping your lights as close as possible to plant tops w/o burning the leafs will inhibit stretching and make for a heartier plant. Your internodal spacing will be much tighter and make for larger colas.

What kind of soil are you using? Lots of soils that are available have nutes in them already, this can cause problems if you're not careful.

Week 2 Update
They are growing well with 1 lagging behind. But only as it is shorter than the other but leafs are being produced rapidly. I am thinking that this is the 2nd week so 1 more week of veg. then 12/12 flowering cycle begins.
The soil is for flowering plants and is very low in ferts (no Jonh innes or anything like that) with only 3 weeks worth in it.
They seem to be needing at least 400ml water per day is this normal as I dont want to drown them. I have a moisture meter which helps.

Thanks for all the replys

Why are you putting them in to flower so soon? You will not get much of a yield if you do them too early.

It depends largely on the type it is and your final height. Usually you wait until the leaves have gone alternating and are not still across from each other. You give me more details, I will give you more help.

My tent is 110cm W x 65cm D x 120cm H. The leafs are now on 4 levels and are leaning toward the light.

They look very good. I would wait until they are about 10 to 12 inches tall.

And then you can either LST them, super crop them or scrog them.

Peace

Sorry I havent posted in a while been buisy at work. Been having a problem with my nutrients. I have been masively under doseing my plants (Didnt read the instructions correctly) and I have lost a couple of leafs from 2 of the bigest plants at the bottom. X2 Water Leafs on 1 and X2 medium leafs on the other all at the bottom. But I have managed to get the nutrients in to them now and after a week the have recoverd and the dead leafs have fallen off.

Will post some pics soon thanks

PS now on Flower Cycle 12/12

Just a quick question. Now that I am on flower cycle can I cut down on the Veg Nutrients or do I continue to use both? I am using Biogrow and Big Bud for flowering.
Also is there anyway to stunt there height growth and encourage outward growth??
