That is way too warm, my dear. I think you need a bigger fan, or one with a stronger pull in there. You need to be around 78 degrees to be successful. Take a look at bozo's grow and talk to him about venting your set up. Also, how big is your cool air intake? It should be triple the size of the air exhaust and that might just be the problem.
Air will not allow a vacuum. So as fast as the air is blown out of the box, it will pull air in. This is why the air intake should be low in the box. So say your exhaust hole is 4 inches in diameter. You must have 12 inches of cool air coming into the box. And even if you only have 8 inches, having a passive cool air intake, without a fan, is better for a draw, as a fan can slow down the air coming into the space. Just remember, air will not allow a vacuum so it will suck into the space, low in the grow and rise up and exit the exhaust AT THE SAME SPEED THE FAN IS SUCKING IT OUT. So even if you have a fan there, it cannot exit or come in any faster than it is going out. If you simply increase your passive cool air intake you might just solve the heat issue.
Peace

Peace | Oh I was thinking it was cuz our bedroom is about 75 all the time, no AC in there. So, you say I should maybe take the PC fan out and use it as a passive intake and maybe make another 4" hole next to it with another cardboard light trap? I was also wondering what would happen if I unscrewed one of the CFLs to help with heat? |

You can do that for now, as little plants do not need a lot of light. Yes, try it, until bozo comes on. one more 4 in. hole should help. and get the fan out of the one you have, cardboard light trap aiy? Can you show how you build it? That would be good to have in the DIY growing on the cheap section too, so if you show it here, I can move it to the other forum and presto! A new tutorial!

My partner T is the one who made the cardboard light trap as she used to work in a darkroom. I have asked her to recreate it as it is covered in good ole duct tape lol She is the cardboard pro!! I will try to gently nudge her this afternoon lol | | The Following User Says Thank You to sabasi For This Useful Post: | |

Rep Power: 116 | | How hot is too hot?? OK I have to have the AC on in the living room to get the outside air any cooler. So unscrrewing one cfl buld and keeping AC on 12hrs a day seems more expensive lol So is it possible that my cheap temp gage is part of prob? the probe is sitting right at plant hight. They won't die will they?? |

high man, sorry i didn't get to you sooner, i was finishing my own intake, lol.
if you look at my bud box thread, you will see how i originally did my intakes,
and you will also see they were too small and too restrictive.
then, lol, at the end of the thread, you will see my new intakes, and i can tell
you that the new ones are great, my temps are down to high 70's, whoot, whoot! ...lol.
anyway, if you can take some pics of your intakes and your fan, it'll be easier
to help you figure out what the problem is.

I have the pics in this thread. Thanks for having a look!! I know it's a cheap setup and all but didn't want to waste my money if I didn't even make it to this point. So duct tape and cardboard and carbon! Oh MY!!! The plants are at a comfy 75F with lights off. I have 3 150W WW cfls, i unscrewed one yesterday to see if it helped the high temps, 85F and didnt notice much diff. Is it impossible to grow with this setup? The plants look healthy enough to a noob lol. I have a 65cfm 4" inline with a carbon scrubber on back but it has a 90degree bend in it so that cuts down on airflow. Arg! I'm getting frustrated! I just want my free pot already!! On that note, lemme smoke a bowl before I continue, it calms me...Ok, coffee is waaay too strong here lmao. Now i'm going sideways! Back to the grow. I haven't noticed any slow growing here and they all look nice and green so I was thinking maybe my heat and exhuast is "OK" for what I'm doing? It's a real small space they are in lol. I think I have the dimensions somewhere, cant find them atm. If heat stunts the growth, I'm good to go cuz my space is only like 15"X17"X28ish. I'm wanting to do the perp grow in the 20oz bottles. Still trying to figure out which ones are fems. So if the plants look healthy into flower, if heat was an issue, wouldn't it have shown up by now? Anyway, thanks Bozo for your time, and anyone else who cares to comment! My goal is like an oz/week by pulling 3 of these lil ladies a week. I don't need much, really. Just for me and my partner T. Me and my plants say thanks Bozo!!

Me and my plants say thanks Bozo!! | what you have to do is to decide whether you really want to become a
grower or are you just lookin' for 'free' weed. ...i warn you now, growing
weed is highly addictive! ...lol.
if you decide you want to become a grower and you are willing to do whatever
it takes to learn what you need to know, i guarantee you will succeed!
just don't give up, remember that each set-back isn't a failure unless
you give up, it's a learning experience!
when i first started out i popped 30 bagseed beans and killed them all!
so i popped 30 more, lol, fortunately, i managed to keep 5 of those
alive long enough to find that 4 of them were female.
that first grow was a 'failure' for me as it only yeilded about 3 or 4 grams
per plant so not productive enough to be worth the effort. ...except that
it wasn't a failure because i learned not to grow under Mercury Vapor lights.
anyway, if you want it bad enough, you will succeed and along the way
you will get much help from some really good people as the spirit of love
shared in the mj community is an awesome thing! ...lol, just ask Kellogg's!

Rep Power: 116 | | Wow Bozo! I can feel the love!! I love it here! Oh, BTW, I'm female lol I was reading your link threads, wow! You have done some way cool stuff!! I'm thinking I may have panicked as far as the temp goes. But maybe unscrewing the middle bulb will help with temps. I read somewhere here that they can handle anything up to 95F and then they stop growing. I don't think I have to worry about 95 so far lol Also Bozo, thanks for serving in the military, I don't get to meet many peeps that have put their life on the line for us like that. No, I don't get out much! OK, back to reading all this good info 150W WW cfls= Warm white cfl's I'm in the CFL club lol
ok, i've looked at the pics and i still don't have enough detail on how it
is constructed and configured to help...
Its just a plastic bin for trash bags lined with panda paper. PITA so far cutting plastic lol But it was a $32 cabinet in my eyes at the time. I think it's gonna be hard to take the plants in and out when they get bigger lol My wheels are turning tho cuz I think a lil dresser from the thriffy is my next goal lol I think I have the measurements somewhere...Ah yes, here H=26" W=14.5" L=15" with total lumens 8400. I wonder if I could get away with less light here?
Anyway, time to smoke again lol

you're welcome hon, and your turn will come, i promise you you will be
captivated by the power of the feeling's of community you will find here.
you can find it elsewhere too but here we truly try and focus on helping
each other and in helping new people like you become one of us, lol.
anyway, i think it'd be a good idea to start hunting for a new cab or,
if you're at all handy with tools, it might even be easier to build from
scratch, then you can design it to your specs.
here are some links for building different style boxes and even some
cardboard, lol. DIY projects pc grow some different designs Tick's box
these are just a few and sadly, all from ICMag, a huge site where there is little
feelings of community, just clicque's, which is why you will find me here and
not there, lol. ...in any event, if you need more study materials, lol, just let me know. Quote:

I thought they looked healthy enough. Bozo said I should get a new cab so I thought I had to stop growing till I got a better setup is all. A triploid has 3 sets of leaves instead of pairs of two. It's kinda rare I heard and a very good strain cuz you can get 50% more yield off of them. I got pics in my gallery of everything.
