in my view those things aren't ready to do the task today, they will do it in a few years for sure but today it would be money well wasted.
what LEDs are u talking about? All LEDS put out little to no noticeable heat, most feel slightly warm to the bare hand when placed near on even touching the LED emitters themselves.

The only real down fall to LED lighting i have found so far is if u allow the plants to touch the panals they will do freaky things. where ever the plant thouches a red LED it BUDs right away! getting to close to the blue LEDS can sometimes make the plant either grow curly (hard to explain no pic yet),or grow strait down awa from it! realize am using a set of panels that are mixed with red and blue, since i notice this odd response from getting to close i ordered a set of solid red LED, i plan to place it ontop of one plant and try to force bud it with the huge amount of red light. i had read of someone else doing this alredy and having the same results in the plants reactions of being to close. too close to the blue, odd rapid growth. too close to red, instant flowering.

These are the same lights I was using.I abandoned this configuration and went with
2 panels in center and 2-4 bulb light strips (1 on each side). My Veg. box is 24x21x49
I discovered that those LED's were delaying growth(stunting plants)
Once I added the light strips with 2-23w and 2-14w 6500k CFL's in each strip the plants grew about 2" overnight (I operate my Veg box lights 24hrs)

Default i don't know what the ettiquette is here but...

there's a guy on another forum with a thread he started in Jan, i believe, that did an entire grow with 3 Procyon 100's, at $600.00 a pop that's $1800.00 just for the lights.
he took it from seed to harvest and grew some sweet looking buds, heres a few of his pics and if it's not against the rules, i'd be happy to post a link
anyway, his pretty little nugs
