Inspired rubbermaid grow
I started a grow a few months ago. I found a 55 gallon feed drum used for storing feed for cattle. I then lined it with 1 mil white mylar. Screwed a 2 outlet electrical box to the upper part of the barrel w/ cord. Used a hole saw to cut 4, 1 1/4" to hold in the light socket. There are 8 cfl 26 watt 6 warm 2 cool they are wired to a timer. have more space to add more just not too sure with the heat. Cut a four inch hole in the top of lid for the vent system.
Vent Consisted of 2 square screw buckets,2 marine filter pads and carbon. a 90 cfm fan draws the air out the top like a chimney. The fan is screwed in the bucket and taped with duct tape. pulls a lot of air, the top screws right on and plugs right in the side of the barrel where the outlet is. The bottom of the barrel has 10 or so 1 inch holes.
I have a irrigation system hooked up to the side with a 1/2 inch pvc pipe 15 inches long running to a 90 the to a screw fitting that hookes to a 4way manifold with 2 lines going to each plant. just pour water right in a funnel and everyone gets fed.
The barrel holds 2 unknown bagseed females. I got a herimy this run. was wondering about the whole female seeds ?. so i have it in a bucket outside and letting it do its thing. anyways back to the topic at hand. the girls are in a cylender scrog set up i made from some stirng and a tomatoe cage woven into a screen. have been LSTing them scence they were 3 weeks old. They are now 2 months old and about 2' growing around the screen. I just started the flowering.
Will post pics soon
