wait, i'd make that 4 100w

i figure each one would light 2x2 space fairly well

maybe even 5 with a blue spectrum in the middle so they get a more full spectrum

gotta know what wattage your thinking of working with though

If you will look at the faq on the first page there are charts with this info on there. I use hid but some love cfl...I just never can get the tight buds I want w/o hid.

I would rather say atleast 2 cfl's per plant than how many per sg ft.

I have used them through 2 grows and starting on a third.

It is hard to get good light penetration but it is possible.

I would recomend white walls or white surroundings.

Do not use tin foil.
It will get you sucka.
LOL

If you do just make sure it is completely smooth.
The creases and krinkles cause hot spots.

I would say with cfl's the more you can get in there "SAFELY" the better.

Safety is the most important issue here today boys and girls.

Read instructions and use common sense.

For those not good with this sort of thing wait until you are done before you smoke.
LOL

Is it possible to have too much light?
I was thinking about building a cabinet for DWC grows lined top to bottom with "midstrength"(I forgot what wattage I have right now) cfls. I was planning on having about the same specs as you except 6ft in height. 3 cfls in a row every 16 inches across, roughly. What do you think?

yeah different spectrums are real important, but should they be evenly matched, or more of one than the other?
