Homemade Fixture

has anybody or does anybody know how to make your own fixture that would be able to connect to a cfl tube. i would think it would just be a few wires and what not. i bought a fixture for mine bulb and it was 20 bucks and it already broke and only has 1 slot which doesnt do me any good considering i have two bulbs.

I've never done it but i'm sure it can be done, there isnt much to it if you have the ballasts and the end connectors/socks. depending on how much you can get the ballasts and connectors for it might be cheaper to just buy fixtures..you can get shop lights cheap at wal-mart and home depot and lowes.

Yes you can.You will need a ballest that is rated to the watts of the blub.Ballest are like this, one tube,2 tubes, 4tubes,8tubes,the ballest has to say it wiil run 2,4,8 tubes at the wattage that the tubes are.Meaning that 2 tubes 4'long at 40 watts will need a ballest that runs 2 tubes at 40 watts.You can get the sockets at lowes or homedepot or a electric supply house.Just have to follow the wiring diagram printed on the ballest.I got away from tube lights and use the 150 watt cfls,much easyer and the ballest is build in the light.All you need is the mogel socket which cost around $6.00 at elec supply house or online.One or two of them and you have better lighting then the tubes.
