Ok where can I begin first to say I am getting awesome experience with Closets and how they differ from sealed rooms 10X10 or bigger. There are ups and there are downs to it but relaxing is key. First if you pull your hair all out over maintaining a proper climate during Germ and Veg cycles you will be bald after the first 30 days.LOL Lemme tell ya it is a pain in the rectum to do it perfectly and it will antagonize the crap outta you (and anyone else you are around)Ha Ha. Just relax and dont worry about it as it shall come to pass and the more foliage you grow the more your temps and Humidity level out. I'm at 30 days and still playing with it to try and learn it before 5 days comes up and I have to get it as close as possible for proper flowering conditions. Bottom line is to keep cool and you'll get lots of answers in here that truly work. I like to think that these wonderful people in here have given me a new life and not only a brighter future but a smile to go with it. Enjoy and get back to me anytime with q/a on closet growing. Here is a shot or two at what i'm doing from start to now. Enjoy!
Peace,

Maybe Run Just The 2 27w 5500k, Right Now, You Could Get Them Alittle Closer. I Like To Run 16/8 But I Have Sh$tLoad's Of Light's, Alot Of People Go With 18/6 Either Will Be Fine. I Feel They Need A Dark Period, Some People Will Say 24/7. It's Up To You.
I Would Just Water It For A Hole Minute Till It Get's More Leave's.
Best Thing You Can Do Is Just Start Reading Grow Journal That Are Like Your Style.

Well you will get mixed opinions on your light cycle. I run an 18/6 cycle and I dont think it's hurt me a bit. In this attempt at this in a closet i'm stickin with it and I think the seedlings and lamps enjoy alittle break but I dont know how efficient it really is. I also have used MH for 24 hours other times and dont really think there was much difference. I hear alot of people say they veg their clones under 18/6. I think 18/6 is just more natural duplication of sunlight periods but I may get bashed for that statement. As for the lights, More and more people are having good luck with cfls and temps. I have been seeing some really pretty stuff coming from all cfl grows. Is it more efficient?? Good question. Id say some but not a major diff. I use HIDs because i'm used to them and they give good hardcore results for me. I just see more penetration into the entire canopy with them. MH in Veg and HPS all the way for fruiting. Power consumption thus far is very encouraging. Cheaper than I thought by a long shot. Only a 23 dollar increase over the average Usage rates for the period this far. Sure that will increase once I am running my MH and both 400 watt HPS lamps at the same time.LOL We'll burn that bridge when we get to it.
Peace,
Med

First off what kind of containers are you using? Didnt you say you are using MiracleGro soil? No Nutes!!!!!!!!!! I seriously dont reccommend ANY during germ/veg/clone. That soil feeds for 3 months. They claim after 30 days you CAN ad a light flower additive. I am using this stuff at the moment only because it has been good to me thus far and because it's giving me a chance to learn what we can and cant do to it to make it better overall. When I get a 32 qt bag of it I always now add two handfulls of Perlite and 3/4s cup of Lime and mix it up real nice.(take out the sticks and mulch).
You might wanna wait to do the 18/6 cycle until you hear from a few others. What will work for one may not work for the next person unfortunately. Oh yeah if you are using Purified or R/O water you might wanna add 1 teaspoon of Epsom salt or a dose of CalMag as R/O water is negative in Mg and Ca I have found. I'm now wondering weather or not i shouldnt use tap water? Maybe after a quick test i'll give it a try on a couple and see if there is any obvious result.
Peace and good luck,
Med

Dont knock the MG Soil i'm tellin ya. It's been nothin but a Miracle for me so far. I think CalMag or Epsom Salt is a must but safe and easy to help fix it as well as Lime and Perlite. I water from the top from the edges in with room temp water always until it just begins to drip out of the drainage holes. Drainage is key with this stuff thats for sure. It produces good results you just have to treat it as you go along. I'll tell you this, It is extremely forgiving. I'll keep doin it. LOL
Enjoy and Peace,

Only thing I am concerned with is the Nitrogen levels and Flowering. I wonder if there is anyway to lower the Nitrogen as you dont want Nitro that high when you flower. I could be wrong but I dont think you want high Nitrogen in Flowering. Hmmmmmmmmmmmm gonna have to contend with that sooner than later. I'll work it out and it will be fine. Somethin is goin right because this room stinks to high heaven and I aint even in Flower yet.Yikes 6 days! I'm crossin my fingers.
Peace,

Hey also, Whats a good site to order seeds from? | I am using 3 gal plastic mop pails in which iv'e drilled holes in the bottoms for drainage. Should be plenty good for flowering and these didint cost but a buck a piece! Just a bit of time to drill em out and bam they are done. I wish they were big square ones for a better fit but they were a pain to get anywhere reasonably.5 bucks per 12L square pot but after shipping your paying more like 9 bucks a pot. No way not this kid.
Peace Guy's,
Med
