cfl's do indeed burn leaves if they are close enough for long enough. hard to tell from those pics if thats the cause or not. try taking an over all shot with or without the bulbs in it for better judgment.

yup, they look a little crisped up. Do you have a fan on them? I have cheapie wally world 5 buck fans hanging and aimed to cool my cfl's. It helps a lot, moving the air right in front of the lights. Or on top of your plants. I have mine hanging down for side light in the back of my veg area, with fans blowing over them, but still occasionally still get scorched leaves. I wouldn't worry too much, they will outgrow those leaves and everywhere you take off a leaf 2 will grow or a whole new branch.

Peace

as long they not touching it they should be fine but i guess there are some CFLs out there that can get so hot that the will burn even distanced foliage. that the edges start to curl up can be a sign for heat stress which would prove your theory, but now there comes the "but" here, this can be also caused by a too high EC caused by excessive feeding with fertilizer, or over fertilization that swings into nutrients burns - if you happen to have burn marks on lower leaves that couldn't have touched the CFLs you are overfeeding and need to flush your plants till the EC drops to normal values (EC of tab + pH'ing agent). If you can not find lower leaves with burns adjust the CFL further away from leaves and also check if your fan isn't pushing leaves on the tubes of the CFL - could also happen.

so you are a snakeoil user too, well never heard of superdrive causing burns to plants, besides that, your plants are now in a stage where they can take the usual grow fertilizer, they need plenty of nitrogen to drive now

I am concerned about your statement here, what is your soil mixture?
The plant looks nice, with decent internode spacing too.
You've done good so far. Superthrive is an addition to nutrients, not to be used in place of.

So what are your plans? Is that a rich organic soil mix? Even if it is, you'll need some nutes for sure.

Get a fan in there, keep the light, no closer than two inches, but I'd be more concerned with your feeding schedule than a brown spot at this point. with CFL's you may need to move the light daily.
More likely the bown is a defiency because you havent fed her.
Peace

thanks everybody for your input!its very helpful!! none of the lower leaves are brown like that so i dont think its nute burn. plus i dont use any nutes right now.i will be using a high nitrogen plant food starting tomorrow though. as far as my soil mix goes, im using your basic wally world miracle gro potting soil. what would be the best soil to use?? im new to growing.when i first started i killed about three plants! =0( (only bagseeds though) but since ive registered on here i've learned so many things that would have saved my babies at the time.so now with more knowledge then before im off to a good start compared to the babies i murdered.ha haa. i appreciate everyones help and im absorbing everyone info as i go along. Thanks
