Default cfl flood lights?

while shopping for cfls today i saw a large cfl flood light, like a flood light with a coiled cfl inside of it...forget the wattage but it looked like it would be a great way to concentrate the cfls light...would these work for growing?

Default

those would work, i personally use them in my kitchen trac lighting and they put off pretty good light, but nowhere near as much as regular CFLs, i may be way off base here, but try throwing one in with your set up and see how it works.

edit: wow i just took a massive bong hit while i was typing that have no idea how that came out....you would be better off using CFLs and tubes over these, but im sure adding a few for supplemental light would not hurt, i have no experience with those but the ones i have seem to have a proper lumen output, sry. try one and see how it goes, if it's worse chuck it, if it's better utilize them. and let us know
