And taking in consideration that there is not the space to grow to "full" size as outdoors the colas will carry the main bulk. the one thing here that is also to be kept in mind is to provide enough volume for the roots to grow, the root system must be able to support multiple colas growing on a single plant.

I looked into both LST and Supercropping awhile back and I think it's a really good idea. I've seen plants with the tops cut off in which they swell up almost and split into two really strong stalks. I'm kind of hessitant to cut anything off the plants being its a first grow and since you said it's better to do it earlier on I'll probably wait till next grow when I am more confident.

As of now I'm just happy that my first grow was successful with little to no health issues. The plants are nice and green and are just starting to bud which I'm very excited about. I was curious as to how many bud sites there would be and I figured the massive amounts of new tops that I grew would give the plant more places to grow bud. We shall see. My inner growth has about 4-5 nodes on each new shoot so it's pretty well developed all around.

Is it too late to top the plant at this point? Is it too late for LST or supercropping? I might just wait till the next crop to introduce something new.

Hey FTZ,

I think you would be better off waiting till next grow to try something new. Your attitude of gaining a bit of confidence first is very sane and laudable. One step at a time and before you know it you will be a master grower.

Later,

Quick Update: Both indoor plants are showing great amounts of white hairs protruding at the bud sites. Buds are in the earliest stages of forming on both plants. Today is day 17 of flowering and things seem to be moving along smoothly. Plants have no health/nutrient issues except for a slight burn on one of the leaves of one plant from an accidental CFL burn. Nothing but pistils are growing in the nodes and there is no sign of any male anatomy appearing or starting to appear anywhere so I am in the clear for two beautiful 100% females.

Since both plants are from bag seed and there is no definite answer as to what strain they are exactly I will give the plants nick names rather then numbering them. I think it'll be more fun that way regardless. Oh and don't question the names because I was high when I thought of them. Thanks. ;)

Pictures
Day 46 (Flowering Day 17)

Plant two was decided to be my, "Big Lady"

Plant Three is now nick named, "Shorty".

Take a look at Big Lady's canopy filling up the atmosphere.

A quick look into the past
Here's a random shot from an earlier date during the growth of these plants.

These are from early July. This is the setup that my current two biggest females started in. It was a Drip Water Culture setup with a reservoir that pumped water to the vermaculite/perlite growing medium two times a day.

I loved this setup because it required almost no attention and everything was perfect. I knew that each plant was getting the same exact amounts of water and nutrients at the same exact time each day. This made it easier if there was any health problems that I could immediately disregard the over or underwatering and nutrient deficiency if any of the plants were different.

PLANT SLIDESHOWS
I started to make slide shows of the plant's lives and I only finished one of them so far. I am going to make a more easy to look at web page whenever I get a chance so you can see the one i finished either way.

Big Lady - July/August

Flowering Day 18
There is a tremendous amount of white hairs filling each node and a tiny bud has formed on each top. The aroma is beginning to get really sweet and potent, it smells awesome.

Here is a bud site on Big Lady. Apologies for the quality.

This is one of the lowest tops that grew in and fortunately there is still bud growth there as well. Not as fast but it's moving along which means the light actually penetrates more then I thought it would.

Bud sites on Shorty.

I have a question about nutrients during flowering. I've heard that most people stop using nutrients for the last few weeks of their plant's lives in order to keep the nutrient taste out of the final smoke product. So if flowering usually takes about 2 months should you only use nutes for the first month or something?

Plus how important is it to use a more phosphorus based nutrient during flowering? I used 10-15-10 Shultz every other watering during veg but have not switched to flowering nutes yet as it's hard to find a phosphorus based fertilizer around here.

Update
Day 49 (Flowering Day 20) - I tied some of the new tops to pull them outwards more so they make more of a canopy to try and induce more light on them.

Overall shot of Big Lady

Overall of shorty

A few of many Bud sites ;)

I could smell these all day! It's like a really potent sweet aroma. The bud sites look like the top of a nice fresh nugget up close. I can already tell these plants are going to make some awesome looking buds. Things are going very well and I should expect bud from both of these guys within a few weeks I hope. I can't wait to come back and post some really big buds. Thanks for looking.

Since you are already used to Schultz products why not Schultz Bloom
10-54-10. I am using it now to help my ladies out. Of course I am outside.

You don't think that 54% is too strong? I actually have a Miracle-Gro Bloom Booster which is 10-52-10 but one of my friends said that it isn't safe for some reason? Is there any problem with this stuff during flowering? It's almost identical to the Shultz product you suggested.
