Can you use them for veg and flower?

I have not read much about them.
When I first seen them they were really expensive so I just more or less over looked them.

Hey Mid, am unsure about the penetration so I can't comment but I have a theory. According to the area of the spectrum these LED's produced light are are susposed to be close to perfect.I am using 4-16w 225 LED panels 80%@ 655 Nanometers 20% @ 470 Nanometers

Let me add something from my experience, Don't look at them directly they are uncomfortable. Like the LED lights on a cop car.

but looking at them at an angle they appear very dim. The dimness concerned me enough that I did a little reaserch and found that at the point of the light scale where these lights are producing will be dim to the human eye, Here is some info on light spectrum from NASA What Wavelength Goes With a Color?

As you can see these lights produce light that is visible but close to infared and ultra violet which makes me ponder if the light might actually penetrate the plant sort of like X-ray's. That is a guess on my part. I have found no proof of my theory.

I might try using the LED's alone on a grow as soon as my stock is replentished. I hope this helps a little. light farming link; Lettuce and LEDs: Shedding New Light On Space Farming

mine did that too, i think it was because the stem got damaged in the earlier stages, and it sort of deformed like that.

all the power goes to the light.
