Default When to Harvest? Lethal Purple Bud shots! J-angel

Okay folks. I need some of you sage growers to give me your opinion on these 2 girls. They are Lethal Purple. They have been in full flower since at the latest May 20th. I had these girls on 24 hr light, MH, all their lives,
never put on 12/12 and they are flowering away! I planted them outside about a month ago. They look to be Sativa dominant. I have plants from the same seed lot that are short and Indica dominant. They are not in full flower like these guys are. Isn't this totally opposite what is supposed to happen? Sativas are supposed to take longer to flower. I have no idea when to expect these guys to be ready. I half expected them to go back into veg when I planted them. I did not give them any dark treatment to induce flowering, just hardened them off.

okay, here's the pics.

I don't think sativa's take any longer to begin flowering, but they do take longer to finish. They sure do look nice, either way. How old were they when they began flowering?

Planted after germination on April 8th. How old is that? 3 months now I guess. They have just non stop flowered after showing sex. But they are not really tall. Only like 3 feet. 3 and a half. And I have found with sativa's their stems are more brittle and breakable so they don't like LST'ing too much. They tend to break more.

the sites I looked at report lethal purple as an early flowering 80% indica variety that grows fairly large outside (at least for an indica dom plant). They also report a strong parfume smell which may help you judge when it is ready...do you have any way to look at the trics? that's how I would figure it out, pistle color would be my second choice...and if all else fails I would just take it about 8 weeks after flowering began (July 20th?) though they look more like 5 weeks away rather than 4 to me from the pics...I am sure you will be able to havest within the window just using your experience and judgement. Best of Luck J-Angel

yup. Me man and I where just talking about getting one of those magnifiers ISO, and I think you also, Scott, where talking about, from Radio shack. Now it is called the Source up here. I am going to check it out on line this week. So we can check the trics. We also have a camp site near our plants, so we can just light the wood stove and sit and check trichs! And cook dinner too! So kewl! We even have an out house!

most magnifying lens won't let you see the trichomes

but at radioshack and others there is a portable 60 - 100x microscope

the field is small and its a bit tricky to work with but w/ practice you can get a very clear view of the trics for about $10

Tell me it's a 2-holer.
