Default Water cure issue

Hi,

I dumped a bud into a jar of RO water, today will be the third day I've changed the water. My problem is that the water is still crystal clear on the third day. The water does have a slight odor and the two pieces of bud are still floating. I suspect it may be the temperature (65F) or the fact that I never broke my bud up. Can anyone help shed some light on this?

thanks,
R

Ron, from what I understand you need to keep something on top of it for the first few days to keep it submerged. I used a plastic lid with a container of water on top. And if you only have a small amount of bud in a lot of water, you might not get the smell others spoke of. Mine stunk a bit but not really bad, but mine was dried and half cured, just harsh as hell. And it was organically grown as well so I don't know. If it is just a small amount of bud, use a smaller container and jury rig something up to keep it submerged. By the third day of curing mine did not need to be held down. Got to go drain that sucker and set it to dry today.

Hey, Ron, WB used a salad spinner to dry his and he said it worked like a charm! I will let you know.

P.S. I guess I have a couple of ounces in there. I did not break it up and you should not have to.

Peace

Thanks for the reply j-angel. I have been keeping it submerged. I suppose I do have a lot of water for one little bud. Hopefully it will sink and cure already! haha.

cheers,
R

Try reducing the water, babes. If it has some smell then it is doing something anyway. I even watered my plants with the water I drained out. I bet you are not supposed to do that but I did and nothing died yet. LOL!

Keep the faith babes.

Wink Suspended

I would consider holding the greenery in the middle of your water. Not on top and not on the bottom, at least to begin with. I used a couple of broiler grills to hold mine under the surface of the water. You may not get an excessive amount of color, I did not, but the smell of the water you drain off is indicative that the process is working. I do not think a lesser amount of water is the trick. You are trying to leech the bad stuff and a smaller amount would get over saturated with garbage. I think more water if any thing. In my short time using this cure I found that if the buds are forced against the bottom, the bottom of the bud retains something, maybe chlorophyl.

The salad spinner worked most excellent, it spins the last of the nasty water out too. Makes air drying very easy and fast. It is a great $15 investment if you have more than just a little bit to do.

Good Luck

I do not think you have to be so gentle handling them. Have a nice day angel, I'm gonna take another one down this AM. I will be doing another water cure next week.

Hey WB! He only has one little bud in there. Not much at all. Maybe tie it to a stainless steel bolt and just have the string let it float half way? And if it sinks, try little tiny water wings! LOL!

Peace

HAHAHAHA, Water wings eh! Any thing to keep it submerged. It was about three days here too when mine stayed submerged. I also did not cut the nuggets off until after the cure and before taking them for a spin. It was easier to keep a stem full of buds submerged rather than a bunch of individual nuggets. You are gonna like the salad spinner.
