Good info, Fred. I also like to try different techniques. I've done isopropyll hash in the past and I'll give this a shot but I'm still confused. "Place you trim in the bags place it in your wash machine. Place your drain hose in your trash can (lined with your bags)". These Martha Stewart mesh bags...so that I understand...you put your cuttings in them and place them in the wash? So the trichs are now loose from the ice water and floating around in the washing machine water? Then you drain the water into more mesh bags to catch the trichs? Is that the concept? I don't understand how you catch the trichs to make the hash. These mesh bags need to be very very fine...very small holes small enough to prevent your trichs from washing down the drain, right? Please elaborate.

Default pics washing machine hash

This guy did what you are describing fredfarted:
this should help to clarify the process hearmenow:

need ice, need ice, need ice............

sorry took longer than i thought. but i'm done now.

i only filled my bags maybe a third of the way. i wasn't sure how this would go beings it was a "first run". it worked great. next time i will stuff them. i didn't weigh what i started with but i know what i ended up with.

when hand mixing you mix until your water starts to turn green. i wash until my water comes out clear. using the bags inside the washer protects the leaf and cause 0 damage. i just keeping washing it until nothing more comes out. in the end my water was clear. my last rinse in my final screen the hash wash blonde. NO green matter. this worked perfect. i give this method top honor ratings. A+

follow along..........

the machine was hella faster than me. i had to keep shutting it off.

now we start pulling bags..........

took me almost an hour to hand press it all. some people dry it at this point then use vices or what not. i like to work it like taffy. i start with a handful and just start squeezing it. as i squeeze the water comes out and the hash becomes warm and sticky. i squeeze then fold it over itself again and again. i work it until it is uniform and pliable.

almost done................

Great tutorial, ganga. I've been saving my trim to make hash. I don't think I have quite enough but I have 4 plants I will be harvesting soon, so hopefully I'll have enough to make at least a little. I need to visit Wallyworld to get those bags! Thanks again.

mila of postronics might get mad for you takeing away from her profits. that being said how much dose one of those lil camper washers cost new. as to those people who just got a plant or 2 of trimings save them up tile you get at least 10 plants worth i noticed it makes a big differance i use to just throw all my triming in one bag and do it all at once which made for some good flavor and neat highs but if you want just a pure taste from one plant it was hard to do so i started putting each strains leaves in there own baggies and mark them then throw them in the freezer till i have around a pound of leaves for each then it's gland extracting time

Cool thread. I've heard of folks doing this but I've never felt I had enough trim on hand @ one time to make it worthwhile.

I hand-stir for about 10 minutes and run the trim twice before discarding it. I use 5 gallon buckets/bags...w/110 micron...80 micron..60 micron bags.

Try fresh freezing your trim. The consistency will go from a powdery material that needs pressure to press/hold together to a far more gooey/pliable/"earwax' type product that will react differently depending on the strain used.

As an example, in the pic below the SD bub has remained pliable for well over a month now and MUST be kept in the refrigerator or it will melt/stick to whatever it is sitting on. This pic was taken when it was cold/fresh out of the fridge...

Then look @ the Aftershock bub. Same bags/process/ice and water extraction...but this eventually dries to an earwax type consistency..and yes...the stuff is RED.

The Wheelchair bub in the middle is about 1/2 and 1/2..depending on the bag it came from. Some pliable..some a bit hard/crumbly....but all of it incredibly stupifying and the kinda stuff that will put you into a power nap in a heartbeat if you don't respect it! Definitely the strongest of the 3 in potency...

There's about 80 grams of bub here....and goin fast! YUMMM

good luck all...
