Does anyone do it that way? Anyone who would care to chime in on the matter i would appreciate the input. |
The reason to trim after drying is to slow down the drying process and end up with a smother product, but comes with the down term that the entire trimming process gets quite difficult. On the other hand, if you spiral twist stems of fan leaves they will now snap off right at the base, so it depends on the bud a little as well, a indica strain will cause less trouble then a sativa.
Trimming before drying speeds up the drying process and reduces the risk for catching mold as you remove foliage and water deposits by trimming away leaves and stems. Yet the fast you dry you bud the harsher the smoke will be, but the work is done easily as everything is still moist and soft.
I personally semi trim kind off, i will take off all big fan leaves and trim back the smaller stuff but only to bud surface, not digging for the stems or starting fingers in the buds, and let the entire branches dry. I rather spend some more time curring then on the mess of trimming dry bud, especially with sativa heavy strains.
