Default switching ferts

im 40 days into flowering and im using schultz orchid food (19-31-17) do you think i should switch to a fert with a 0 nitrogen combo?? or does it matter at this stage of flowering??

At 40 days, they should have enough stored nitrogen. I would switch to a 0-10-0 or similar. Then, at about 10 days before harvest, nothing but water w/molasses 'til chop.

thanks pappy! i wasnt sure so i thought i would ask.is there a difference in using a higher P then lower P as long as the nitrogen is at zero?? example: 0-50-0 versus 0-10-0 something like that ??

You would use less of the 0-50-0 than the 0-10-0. I use a couple teaspoonfuls per plant, per week. You could also put a handful into a gallon or two of water, with an airstone. Then, use that for a watering. There sure are lots of ways of doing the same thing, aren't there?

thanks again! do you have any recommendations on brand or type that can be purchased at say....walmart,home deopt or lowes?? just curious :0)
