Smile Soapy taste?

Once in a while I get smoke that has a wierd soapy taste. Is this from poorly leeched plants or a genetic thing.I know it to be from Hydroponicaly grown plants and from various locations.
Anybody know the cause of the funky soapy taste?I dont like and avoid it,surly dont want to grow it.

As a youth I worked on tobacco farms and I remember improperly dried and cured tobacco could get a "soapy" quality. I don't know if bud is the same way.

It would have to be a grow condition factor, IMO

Well actully some people use soap to get rid of certain pest like and insecticidal soap. This of course is a regualr common practice and it does not harm the taste Unless they don't wash the soap residue off weeks prior to harvesting . If the grower doesn't as you will obviously guess the bud drys with the residue and u get a shitty soapy taste.....

well you could always water cure suspect smoke, and it is bound to deminish or remove any bad tastes...and if it doesn't perhaps it should be put in the circular file

but your original question was "how do you avoid soapy taste in your own weed" I believe if you grow in accordance with the fundementals - leach well and cure well you will never face such a problem with your own grows - never heard of anyone using good technique have such a problem.

My small grows are planed to use only nessecary additives and mostly organic stuff .So I'm fairly certain that they will be clean and smoke well.I just got a 1/4 two weeks back that tasted terrible and I have had this before from elsewhere .
Not frequent but I've had it a few times before.

" if you grow our own and miss that you damn lazy and deserve to smoke soapy weed"
tis very true
