Rep Power: 88 | | smoke tastes "earthy"
I recently received a report from a patient that the smoke they got tasted earthy... they said it tasted like they were smoking dirt. I gave this to them early and they were supposed to complete curing the bud but have started smoking it a little early, about two weeks cure. I wonder if that is the reason for the taste or maybe something else. I flushed the plants for two weeks before harvest so I'm not sure what else it could be. I have grown this random strain before and had no bad feedback on it. Any thoughts would be great, thanks.

or if you need to cure it quickly, i always heard that "water curing" take 7 days i think? and there is no real taste to it. i am not speaking from experience, so i cant verify if its true or not.

Sorry I haven't been around for a min. I stepped out to do some night time predator hunting, no luck though. That was my first time and it creeped me out alot, sitting in the dark calling a group of coyotes that are going to be hungry and mad when they get to you. I'll have to rethink my method a little and find a safer way to do that.
I figured that it was because of the incomplete cure and really hope that it will mellow out with more time. Thanks for the input guys and gals.

ive had earthy tasting plants too. generally not. but hey if people cant follow directions like, you have to finish curing the bud then all i can say it fk em. their loss. they have no reason to complain. what they expect?
i smoke alot of uncured bud because i also sometimes have no patience to wait. its neve like bud thats been cured for a few months. i think people are stupid.

too early for the cure. and the water curing can cut down the time to a week, however you also need a large food dehydrator. i did it and compared to air dry with my last Chocolate Thai grow (see signature). you can smoke the water after 7 days of changing water, but even then it can still have a little earthy chlorophyll taste. if you water cure honestly you should still pure in a jar for a week or two to get a better flavor. but the air dry and then cure.....ahhhh thats what is amazing. the bud looks better and keeps its original flavor. i would suggest keeping with the air drying, but curing for at least a month.
